Abstract: A sealing ring to be received by an annular groove in one of two pipe elements which can be inserted one into the other, to seal between the pipe elements. The sealing ring comprises two integrated portions of different hardnesses, forming two surfaces enclosing an obtuse angle one of said surfaces being formed by the harder portion and the other one by the softer portion.
Abstract: A process is provided for extruding and cross-linking olefin polymers, diolefin polymers and copolymers thereof with other olefins, diolefins, or monomers copolymerizable therewith, using as the cross-linking agent an azo compound of the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are alkyl having from one to about six carbon atoms. The process is of particular application in the production of cross-linked pipe of such polymers and copolymers.
Abstract: A card box for storing cards or the like includes a tray-like rectangular box member for storing cards and movable, tiltable supports which can be inserted into a series of holes or recesses provided lengthwise and widthwise along the edges of the bottom of the box. Pins at the opposite ends of the lower edges of the supports fit into the holes so that the supports can be located in differing positions lengthwise and widthwise of the box member permitting the cards to be stored lengthwise or widthwise of the box. In a preferred form, the ratio of internal length to width of the box is substantially the same as the ratio of height to width of the largest card to be stored.
Abstract: In a joint between two tubes having a corrugated outer wall and a smooth or corrugated inner wall the tubes are cut to form each an open annular space between said walls at the end. A sealing ring is received by the spaces, and the tubes are pressed against the sealing ring by means of a lock ring tightened about the tube ends.
Abstract: A sanitation appliance such as a water-closet or the like equipped with a generally vertically extending outlet pipe is provided with a resilient diaphragm mounted within said pipe and extending thereacross to stem the flow of flushing water passing through said pipe until a sufficient quantity of the water has accumulated whereupon the diaphragm operates to pass the water through the pipe thereby to cause the accumulated water to act as a water plug creating a suction effect within the pipe.
Abstract: A kit composed of a plurality of parts capable of being assembled without tools into a cubical cabinet includes four wall panels made of injection molded plastic which may be joined together to form four sides of a six sided cubical cabinet. Each of the four wall panels is formed with connecting devices extending along two of the sides of the panels with the connecting devices of each panel engaging the connect-devices of another panel to join the panels together. The panels in the kit also include securing devices formed on the same sides of the panels as the connecting devices. A torsionally rigid rear panel is adapted to engage each of the four assembled wall panels to form a real wall for the cubical cabinet and the kit is also provided with a front closure member which may be assembled to form the front of the cabinet.
Abstract: In a machine for manufacturing reinforced tubes there are provided individually rotatable members supplying reinforcement threads around the tube.
