  • Patent number: 4915213
Abstract: A belt conveyor with at least one endless belt (1,1') has two tensile force (longitudinal)-absorbing members (3,4,3',4') which extend throughout the entire length of the belt conveyor and which are each connected to a respective edge portion of the belt and project from the plane of that edge portion. The belt conveyor is sealed at a longitudinal edge throughout at least part of its length. One edge portion of the belt overlaps and extends outside the other edge portion of the belt along the sealed part of the length of the belt conveyor, more specifically with its tensile force (longitudinal)-absorbing member (3,3') projecting in the same direction as the tensile force (longitudinal)-absorbing member (4',4) of the other edge portion of the belt. When the belt conveyor has a single belt (1), the two tensile force (longitudinal)-absorbing members (3,4) of the belt project from opposite sides of the belt (1) in the straightened state thereof.

  • Patent number: 4905920
Abstract: A milling device comprises two milling bodies one of which is hollow and encloses the other, and a driving unit connected to one of the milling bodies via a shaft nonrotatably connected with the one milling body to cause it to rotate about its own axis in rolling contact with the other milling body. Both milling bodies are universally movable in a surface essentially transverse to the axis of rotation, but are actuated by a return force which increases as the pendulum movement increases. To provide for the return force, the two milling bodies are supported in pendulum fashion, or use is made of resilient means, such as springs.

  • Patent number: 4803932
Abstract: Burner for a suspension of fine-grained coal in a liquid, particularly water, which burner operates according to a combination of the rotary burner and toroidal burner principles. The fuel is supplied axially behind a transverse distribution baffle within a conical rotary body. At least the outer rim portion of the inner side of the rotary body forms an angle of 35.degree.-80.degree. with the axis of the burner. At the outer edge of the rotary body there is an annular air supply nozzle for supplying a conically diverging outwardly directed air stream. Outside the air supply nozzle and at a radial distance from it, there is a conical guide baffle (18, 48) which at its outer end may be curved inwardly and which, together with the diverging air stream, serves to produce a positive recirculation of combustion gases, non-combusted coal particles and ash particles in a direction back towards the rotary body in accordance with the toroidal burner principle.

  • Patent number: 4724952
Abstract: A belt conveyor having a conveyor belt which is flexible in the transverse direction and which, along part of its path of travel, is twisted about it own axis from a lower guide roller (2) to an upper guide roller (3) for forming a tube for the conveyance of goods. The belt (1) runs over the guide rollers in a transversely substantially straightened state. The guide rollers (2, 3), in dependence upon the pitch of the belt (1) in the twisted part thereof, are so inclined relative to the center line of the tube that the two edge portions (6, 7) of the belt in the twisted part thereof engage each other substantially edge to edge. The edge portions (6, 7) of the belt (1) have substantially inextensible reinforcements (8, 9) for taking up longitudinal tensile forces in the belt.

  • Patent number: 4693490
Abstract: A wheel-chair has a foldable frame structure (10) which is lockable in the unfolded state and carries wheels (11, 12) and a back (13). In the folded state, all fixed parts are folded up between the wheels of the wheel-chair. The frame structure (10) is box-shaped and has foldable set and bottom members (15, 17) and foldable front and rear wall members (19, 20). These seat, bottom, front and rear wall members are pivotally connected to side wall members (14). The seat and bottom members (15, 17) consist of two parts and are folding upwards and are mechanically interconneted by means of a central wall (18) for common folding movements. The front and rear wall members (19, 20) also consist of two parts and are mechanically interconnected for common folding movements by means of a rod (22) disposed underneath the bottom portion (17).

  • Patent number: 4603774
Abstract: Use is made of a screw conveyor to supply and guide bulk material to a belt conveyor of the type having two or more belts which travel in face-to-face relationship and between which the bulk material is enclosed during conveyance. The screw of the screw conveyor is rotatably mounted for rotation about its axis and has its upper end in immediate proximity to the entrance end of the belt conveyor. The tubular outer housing of the screw conveyor is rigidly connected to the frame of the belt conveyor. A material supply device is provided at the entrance opening of the screw conveyor.

  • Patent number: 4561596
Abstract: An apparatus for spreading granular material, such as fertilizer, has a carriage (1) on which there is mounted a vertical conveyer (5, 6) which comprises a vertical cylindrical housing (5) and a conveyer screw (6) rotatably mounted therein. The screw (6) is rigidly connected at its lower end to an infeed cup (8) and directly connected to a driving mechanism (7) below the cup (8). The cylindrical housing (5) and the screw wing of the screw (6) extend downwardly into the cup (8), and the cylindrical housing has guide means (9) conducting the material inwardly towards the screw blade of the screw. The material is supplied from a supply container (1A) directly down into the cup (8). At its upper end, the screw (6) is non-rotatably connected to its spreader (12) to which the granular material is conveyed via a discharge opening (20) in the cylindrical housing and a distributor disk (21).

  • Patent number: 4217109
Abstract: A composition consisting of carbon powder, water and a dispersing agent. The particle size of the carbon powder is less than 100 .mu.m, preferably less than 40 .mu.m. The composition is obtained by preparing a mixture of about 1-20% by weight, preferably about 10% by weight, of carbonaceous powder, water and 0.02-4% by weight of dispersing agent. The dispersing agent is selected preferably from polyelectrolytes, such as alkali metal and ammonium salts of polycarboxylic acids, and polyphosphates. These substances possess the property of charging the powder particles of carbon and the impurity particles in a different degree. This different charging is utilized to separate impurity particles from carbon particles, whereupon the purified composition is suitably dehydrated to attain an increased carbon powder concentration of, for instance, 50-80% by weight.

  • Patent number: 4117408
Abstract: An apparatus for providing a signal the magnitude of which indicates the loading of an AC motor. Two pairs of antiparallel-connected diodes generate two AC signals of constant amplitude and of fixed phase position relative to the motor current and the motor voltage, respectively. A load indicating signal is obtained by means of a phase comparator to which these two signals are supplied. A rectifier circuit produces a direct voltage proportional to the supply voltage of the motor, and the direct voltage is combined with the output signal of the phase comparator to compensate for variations in the output signal, which depend upon variations of the supply voltage.
