    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a trimming and/or fin cutting tool for removing ridges, burrs and casting seams of the kind having interchangeable cutting edges, preferably made of hard metal, in which one or more cutting lines of the tool is or are formed by a number of cutting plates (1) detachably mounted on the vertical side (3) of a tool body (2). The tool enables the rational use of the detachable cutting plates and is characterized mainly in that the cutting plates are reversible and are attached to the tool body (2) in a plane directed in the working direction of the tool, the cutting plates having spaces between them to form gaps (6) for the passage of chips. Preferably, the cutting plates along the or each cutting line are attached to the tool body (2) in rows at different heights relative to a base, the separate effective cutting edges of the cutting plates (1) along a common cutting line being arranged to overlap each other.

    Abstract: A regulator for regulating the output of an output shaft is discosed, the regulator comprising a number of chambers to and from which working medium can be fed and discharged in dependence upon control means to effect axial movement of the output shaft via pressure transmitting elements.In accordance with the invention, the regulator comprises a number of series-connected units, the units providing fixedly spaced walls to define separated chambers through which the output shaft effectively extends, each chamber having at least one pressure transmitting element therein which is connected directly or indirectly to said output shaft. With such an arrangement the or each pressure transmitting element, when activated, exerts either individually or in unison an axial force on the output shaft substantially corresponding to the sum of the forces exerted on the active pressure transmitting elements.

    Abstract: The invention relates to apparatus for supporting or clamping bodies of irregular shape, (particularly large workpieces) comprising a clamping jaw, in the form of a box with axially moveable plungers extending from its work face, said plungers being supported in different axial positions, determined by contact with the surface of the workpiece, by a solid medium within the box. Known apparatus do not have positive means for locking the plungers in their positions. The invention provides a simple and effective locking arrangement in which the solid medium is a multiplicity of hard balls, each plunger is formed with ball-receiving cavities, and application of a pressure to the balls is transmitted via the ball-receiving cavities to lock said plungers.

The regulator comprises two or more pistons dividing a common cylinder into a number of pressure chambers, the pistons being arranged for movement relative to one another. The invention provides stop means for each separate piston, each stop means being individually adjustable to produce different lengths of stroke for the respective pistons whereby the output piston rod from the cylinder is caused to adopt a number of axially determined limit positions depending upon the control pressure applied to respective pressure chambers.
