Abstract: A multilayer laminate comprising: (a) a substrate layer of fibrous material; (b) an intermediate layer of polymeric material which is free of anti-static material and is extrusion laminated to the substrate layer; and (c) an outer layer of polyethylene containing anti-static material and including low density polyethylene and linear low density polyethylene, which is coextruded with and extrusion laminated to the intermediate layer. Also disclosed is an appertaining process for making a multilayer laminate. The laminate of the invention has particular utility in the fabrication of protective garment articles, for use in applications involving exposure to flammable or explosive environmental constituents which are susceptible to ignition by static discharge.
Abstract: A protective garment is fed pressurized air through a hood piece connected to a pressurized air source and expels the air through air breather panels formed in the lower leg portions of the garment to prevent ballooning of the garment.

Abstract: A belt assembly for sizingly adjusting the fit of a garment in the crotch region thereof. The belt assembly comprises first and second buckle closure members with an elongate belt secured thereto and forming first and second loop portions therebetween. The belt is applied to the body of a wearer with the first loop portion encircling the wearer's waist, and the second loop portion encircling the lower posterior abdomen of the wearer below the first loop portion, with the second loop portion reentrantly passing forwardly between the legs of the wearer and forwardly upwardly to a frontal proximal extremity which is fixedly secured in proximity to the matably locked buckle closure members. The belt assembly of the invention is particularly useful to sizingly adjust oversized protective garments, e.g., of the disposable type, to conformably fit the wearer.
Abstract: The garment of the invention for receiving temperature regulated air from an external air source comprises an outer torso covering layer, a diffuser layer attached to the interior of the outer layer and a belt means for attachment of a vortex tube to an orifice in the garment outer layer.
