Abstract: A method and system restores power in a power distribution network. The network includes a plurality of power sources, a plurality of loading zones, a plurality of switching devices interconnected between the plurality of power sources and the plurality of loading zones, and an intelligent electronic device associated with each of the plurality of switching devices to control the switching devices. A base network state is defined and a power restoration logic is created for the base network state. A simulation is run for the power restoration logic and then the power restoration logic is transmitted to a power restoration controller which thereafter monitors and controls the intelligent electronic devices.

Abstract: Methodologies adjust a component failure rate for electric power network reliability analysis. A component may include subcomponents and the failure of each subcomponent may be feature dependent. Features are measurable or observable inputs, which can affect the life of one or more subcomponents. The failure rate of a particular component may be obtained according to its real conditions. The methodologies can be used to do condition-based reliability analysis for electric power networks, in order to obtain a maintenance/replacement/operation strategy.

Abstract: The present invention is concerned in particular with the scheduling of maintenance actions such as washing events for a compressor of a gas turbine. An objective function including fuel/power price forecasts is evaluated/optimised in order to determine the advisability of a washing event. The cost function depends on a state vector comprising both Integer/Boolean and continuous state variables which are interconnected via a set of rules or constraints. Mixed Integer Programming (MP) is a used for implementing the inventive procedure.
