  • Patent number: 9344005
Abstract: Exemplary embodiments are directed to methods and systems for producing a three-phase current to a three-phase output. Switching converters are used to generate a positive current, a negative current, and an intermediate current. The system is configured such that the produced positive current follows a path of a highest phase of a sinusoidal three-phase signal at a given time, the produced negative current follows a path of a lowest phase of the three-phase signal at the given time, and the produced intermediate current follows a path of a phase of the three-phase signal between the highest and the lowest phase at the given time. The produced currents are switched to each phase conductor of the three-phase output in sequence so that phase currents of the three-phase current are formed in the output conductors.

  • Patent number: 9338058
Abstract: A network manager device in an industrial wireless network sends a network investigating message to other network nodes for processing and forwarding through the network, the message including a message weight. A wireless communication device providing a node in the network receives the message from another network node, determines a communication weight based on the quality of communication, adds the communication weight to the message weight and compares the sum with the node weight. If the sum is lower than the node weight, it is set as new node weight and as new message weight, whereupon the changed message is sent to other nodes in the network. The network manager device maps the topology of the network based on updated node weights, sets a communication scheduling scheme based on the mapped topology and informs the network nodes of the scheme.

  • Patent number: 9323252
Abstract: A method for automatically controlling a flow in a flow line system including a flow line, a flow line inlet and outlet, and a control valve located in the flow line at the outlet. The method includes controlling the opening of the valve with a control unit. An outlet flow rate is measured or estimated from the flow line. The valve is opened. It is determined if a sudden drop occurs in any of the measurements or estimates. It is decided if a liquid blockage in the flow line is present or approaching. If a liquid blockage is indicated as present or approaching, the opening of the valve is increased by an amount determined by the measurements or estimates. Any further manipulation of the valve is inhibited before a non-zero time period has expired. The steps are repeated. Also a system and a computer program product.

  • Patent number: 9310399
Abstract: A fiber-optic current sensor includes a measuring unit having a light source and a light detector, and a sensing head having a sensing fiber wound around a conductor and a retarder connected to the sensing fiber. The scale factor as a function of current of the fiber-optic current sensor is described by the product of two scaling functions fe? and fs? for the measuring unit and the sensing head, respectively. The data describing the scaling functions fe?, fs? is stored in a memory of the measuring unit, while the data describing the scaling function fs? is also stored in a memory of the sensing head. Providing two such memory devices allows to store the scaling functions fe? and fs? separately, thereby turning the control unit as well as the sensor head into easily replaceable modules.
