  • Patent number: 9219597
Abstract: A method is described for the transmission of data among devices (D1, D2, . . . Di, . . . Dn) connected to a communication channel (1) through sequences containing at least two symbols, one dominant (“0”) and one recessive (“1”). According to this transmission method, one (DTSG) of the devices connected to the communication channel (1) has the function of time slot generator and it transmits on the communication channel (1) with a transmission frequency (f) a sequence of symbols, each defining a time slot in a sequence of time slots. The sequence of symbols comprises at least a series of recessive symbols (“1”). When one of the devices (Di) has to transmit on the communication channel (1), it generates a sequence of symbols, synchronized with the sequence of time slots generated by the time slot generator device (DTSG) and comprising at least one dominant symbol (“0”).

  • Publication number: 20150356491
Abstract: A computer-implemented method provides a job performance plan for a plurality of jobs to be performed at geographical locations. The computer receives job data that represent job requirements for specified locations and processes the job data with the data-structure to provide an initial job performance plan. The computer receives updated job data and identifies a sub-set of the data structure. The computer processes the updated job data with the sub-set to provide an updated job performance plan, wherein some of the routes are re-assigned to specified job performers. The sub-set is selected under consideration of location clusters. Step repetitions with different clusters are provided to increase accuracy.

  • Publication number: 20150356483
Abstract: A computer system for executing a method for improving route assignment performance. A route data structure is provided with a labeling algorithm. The route data structure has one or more route vectors representing a set of route options for a plurality of available resources to fulfill a plurality of job orders at respective physical locations. A linear program is solved to obtain a route assignment solution for the set of route options in the route data structure. If the solution is non-fractional, then the solution is provided as the route assignment solution for the set of route options. If the solution is fractional, then route options having solution variables with a non-fractional route-is-assigned value are identified as assigned routes and a subset of the fractional solution variables are rounded to the route-is-assigned value.

  • Patent number: 9209679
Abstract: In one aspect of the teachings herein, a self-commutated current source converter is operated in a manner that compensates for the reactive power consumption and/or harmonics generation of a line-commutated current source converter used in the transfer of electrical power between an AC power system and a DC power system. In this regard, the line-commutated current source converter is operated as a first converter in a hybrid converter apparatus and the self-commutated current source converter is operated as a second converter in the hybrid arrangement. According to one example, the first and second converters are stacked, such that each shares a portion of the DC voltage on the DC side of the hybrid converter apparatus, while in another example, the second converter is not used for power conversion and instead is used solely for compensation with respect to the first converter.
