  • Patent number: 10277144
Abstract: The present invention is concerned with a four-level voltage source converter topology including two intermediate converter branches connecting two intermediate voltage levels to a load terminal, and including a interconnect switch coupling the two intermediate branches. The interconnect switch replaces two controlled switches present in corresponding four-level prior art topologies. The four-level converter thus requires, for a full bidirectional implementation, only five active switches. The reduced number of active switches/gate drivers and the four available output voltage levels make this solution interesting for lower cost power electronics with improved reliability, good power quality and minimized filtering requirement.

  • Patent number: 10276334
Abstract: It is proposed a liner arrangement for fitting a tubular insulator body in a circuit breaker. The liner arrangement includes a planar, electric-arc resistant and heat resistant liner layer comprising a first edge portion and a second edge portion that is located opposite the first edge portion, wherein the first edge portion has a first contour extending in a direction transversally to a plane defined by the planar liner layer. The second edge portion has a second contour having a geometry that is complementary to the first contour such that the first edge portion can be attached by way of a form fit to the second edge portion once the planar liner layer is bent to a tubular shape. Further, a circuit breaker including a liner arrangement and an insulator is described. A method for protecting an insulator body of a heat chamber insulator for a circuit breaker is also described.

  • Patent number: 10263507
Abstract: A method for generating corrected measured current in an Intelligent Electronic Device (IED) that is a true representation of primary current in an electrical network is disclosed. The method uses regression and a first threshold on measured sampled values from CT to detect a deviation instance that indicates a possibility of saturation. Wavelet and second threshold based detection of instances of saturation is then done. Then a regression based correction that uses a dynamic correction factor is implemented in real time to obtain corrected sampled values i.e. corrected measured current. Ending of correction is done based upon a predetermined selection criterion, The generated corrected measured current is used for protection and control functions in the IED. A CT output re-generation module as a functional module in the IED for implementing the method as described above is also disclosed.
