Abstract: An electric field control device for a high voltage cable includes a stress cone and a field grading adapter, wherein the stress cone and the field grading adapter are chemically bonded by vulcanization. An electric installation includes a power cable and the electric field control device. A method for producing the electric field control device is also disclosed.

Abstract: A robot and method for controlling an industrial robot, which has a first robot arm, a second robot arm, a joint defining a kinematic pair between the first and second robot arms, an actuator for generating relative movement between the first and second robot arms, and a robot controller for controlling the movements of the actuator. The method includes the steps of: determining a presence of a first torque indication at the actuator to be interpreted as a first command to the robot controller; repeatedly obtaining an external torque value (?ext) to obtain an external torque behavior; comparing the external torque behavior with the first torque indication; and executing a robot function corresponding to the first command upon detecting that the external torque behavior corresponds to the first torque indication. The obtained external torque behavior depends on a reference torque value (?ref) obtained from a dynamic model of the robot.
Abstract: A bypass switch provides a bypass path between a first terminal and a second terminal. The bypass switch includes: a first contact device; a second contact device; and a plunger being moveable from an initial state, via a first state, to a second state, wherein in the initial state the first terminal and second terminal are conductively separated; in the first state a movement of the plunger causes the first contact device to close a first conductive connection between the first terminal and the second terminal; and in the second state the plunger mechanically forces the second contact device to close a second conductive connection between the first terminal and the second terminal.
Abstract: One or more techniques and/or systems are provided for network isolation. For example, nodes within a mesh of devices may be configured with routing rules, main routing tables, and alternative routing tables, such as at a layer-3 network layer. The routing rules may specify that packets received from downstream are to be routed upstream to either a gateway or a backhaul device for evaluation as to whether such packets are allowed to be communicated back downstream to destination recipients using main routing tables. An isolation rule may be configured to specify whether to block or allow packets. In an example, the gateway may either block or allow packets based upon whether a source and destination are within a same virtual local area network or are within different virtual local area networks. In this way, selective device isolation may be provided, such as at the layer-3 network layer.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a secure one-step IEEE 1588 clock using either a symmetric or asymmetric protection scheme. Clocks of mission-critical or highly-available devices in industrial automation systems connected to a communication network are synchronized by sending, by a master clock, a synchronization message, e.g., a single message of the one-step-clock type according to IEEE 1588, including a time stamp, and by receiving and evaluating, by a slave clock, the synchronization message. A synchronization component or module of the master clock prepares, or composes, prior to a projected send time, a synchronization message including a time stamp of the projected send time, and secures the synchronization message in advance of the projected send time. Securing the synchronization message occurs by suitable cryptographic means allowing for authentication of the time stamp at a receiving slave clock. At the projected send time, the secured synchronization message is transmitted.
Abstract: Methods and systems for monitoring devices in a power distribution system are described. In one example, a method for use in a power distribution system including a plurality of devices is described. The method includes receiving a plurality of data signals associated with the power distribution system, determining a measurement error value associated with the power distribution system based on the plurality of data signals, comparing the determined measurement error value to a dynamic threshold, and generating an alert when the determined measurement error value exceeds the dynamic threshold.
