Abstract: The invention supports and promotes testing of Substation Automation (SA) functions involving intermediary Logical Nodes (LN) in SA systems of operating substations, specifically with minimized impact on the substation and/or the SA system and without having to completely deactivate or isolate entire parts of the substation. A test is set up by defining at least one input LN where the test scenario input signals will be applied, and by determining output LNs where expected output values shall be observed. Based on the data flow between LNs as defined in the System Configuration Description (SCD) file a test preparing tool automatically determines all intermediary LNs logically arranged between these input and output LNs. The intermediary LNs and the IEDs that are affected by the function test are identified and subsequently marked for “test” or “simulation” mode.

Abstract: An electrical connection for medium and high voltage switchgears, with an electrical terminal of a switchgear, wherein an electrical contacting surface of the electrical terminal is electrically connected with a contacting surface of an external electrical connector part via a connecting system. In order to ensure a low resistance electrical connection, the connecting system can have a female screw thread in a stud hole of the electrical terminal as well as in a stud hole of the external connector part, and a stretch bolt with male screw threads at each opposite ends, screwed into the female screw thread of the electrical terminal with one end of the stretch bolt, and into the female screw thread of the external connector part at the other end of the stretch bolt.
Abstract: A method and system for applying a liner material to a contoured surface, such as an exposed rock face in an underground hard rock mine, is disclosed. Locations of a plurality of spatially distributed surface grid points on the contoured surface may be detected so as to generate a representative topographical profile of the contoured surface. Based on the plurality of surface grid points, a spray path for a liner application device configured to emit a spray of the liner material may be determined. In some cases, the spray path may have a trajectory that follows the topographical profile of the contoured surface offset therefrom within a spray range of the liner application device. Liner material may then be sprayed onto the contoured surface while controlling the liner application device to undertake at least one pass of the spray path.

Abstract: Embodiments are generally based on employing a power transmission line in a HVDC link to provide auxiliary power to one of the ends of the HVDC link for facilitating a black start thereof when the HVDC link is de-energized, i.e. when at least one of the HVDC converter stations is de-energized and there is no transmission of power between inverter and rectifier HVDC converter stations on each side of the HVDC link. A relatively small amount of power can be conveyed towards one of the HVDC converter stations via the power transmission line so as to provide power to any auxiliary system(s) of the converter station, for example prior to a black start of the converter station being carried out.
