Abstract: A modulator for a flying-capacitor type multilevel converter receives, at an input, a time-variant reference signal and provides, at an output, a sequence of target levels, to provide switching signals for switching between discrete output levels of the multilevel converter according to the shape of the reference signal. The modulator determines a critical level as an intermediate output level of the multilevel converter which is closest to the level of the reference signal; and outputs only target levels corresponding to output levels different from the critical level.

Abstract: A self-powered recloser includes a circuit breaker, an electrical actuator, an electrical generator, a capacitor, and a lever. When in an on state, the circuit breaker harvests power from a medium voltage line required to actuate its movable contact to interrupt current flow in the medium voltage line, and when in an off state, it does not harvest power from the medium voltage line. The electrical actuator is configured to transition the circuit breaker from the off state to the on state. The capacitor when charged is configured to provide the electrical actuator with the electrical power required to transition the circuit breaker from the off state to the on state. The lever is configured to be moved by an operative. Movement of the lever is configured to charge the capacitor via the electrical generator.
Abstract: An overcurrent fault detector using a High Electron Mobility Transistor (HEMT) operated by a gate driver is disclosed. The overcurrent fault detector includes a band-pass filter and a control circuit. The band-pass filter is configured to receive gate-to-source voltage (VGS) signals of the HEMT and filter the VGS signals to generate a band-limited version of the VGS signals. The control circuit is configured to measure a value of the band-limited version of the VGS signals, determine if the value is greater than a threshold value, and generate a fault signal that disables the gate driver and terminates an overcurrent fault condition in response to determining that the value is greater than the threshold value.

Abstract: A robotic system for use in installing final trim and assembly part includes an auto-labeling system that combines images of a primary component, such as a vehicle, with those of computer based model, where feature based object tracking methods are used to compare the two. In some forms a camera can be mounted to a moveable robot, while in other the camera can be fixed in position relative to the robot. An artificial marker can be used in some forms. Robot movement tracking can also be used. A runtime operation can utilize a deep learning network to augment feature-based object tracking to aid in initializing a pose of the vehicle as well as an aid in restoring tracking if lost.
Abstract: An arrangement for charging of electric vehicles includes a charging connector and a charging cable. The connector includes a connector body with first and second zones, the two zones being separate from each other. The first zone hosts a mating interface with electrical contacts for mating the connector with a corresponding socket of an electric vehicle. The electrical contacts are electrically coupled to the cable. The second zone includes a tube in which the cable is guided from an opening of the tube, which is arranged on that side of the second zone that faces away from the first zone to the electrical contacts, which are located in the first zone, and a handle for grabbing the connector with a human hand, the handle being separate from the tube. The second zone is Y-shaped where the tube is formed by one upper leg and the lower of the Y.

Abstract: A plug connection system that autonomously charges an electric vehicle (EV) is provided. The method includes: obtaining a trained machine learning (ML) model from a back-end server; capturing an image using an image capturing device of the charging system, wherein a portion of the image comprises the EV charging portal; inputting the image into the trained ML model to determine one or more regions of interest associated with the EV charging portal within the image; determining a location of the EV charging portal based on the one or more determined regions of interest and one or more image processing techniques; and providing information to maneuver the robotic arm of the charging system to a physical position based on the determined location of the EV charging portal.
