Patents Assigned to ABC Extrusion Company
  • Patent number: 4865066
Abstract: A canopy assembly includes a frame composed of a plurality of elongated elements interconnected to form an array to which a fabric is secured and stretched. Portions of the fabric are secured in tension into corresponding different ones of the elements, and corresponding ends of respective elements are connected together to form the frame. At least some of the elements each respectively have an H-shaped cross-section with space-opposed pairs of each of mutually-spaced legs projecting individually away from respective opposite ends of the crossbar of that cross-section. A variety of different devices may be used alternatively to secure the portions of fabric to the different elements, while creating tension in the fabric. A number of different interconnectors may be used alternatively or in various different combinations to connect corresponding ends of respective different elements in the formation of the frame.

  • Patent number: 4265039
Abstract: A fabric is stretched across a sign framework to serve as a display face. Forming the framework are upper, lower and respective side support elements. Depending upon the particular version, a hinge or saddle is affixed to one or more of the support elements. A hinge pin tensioner has limited rotation and is coupled to a marginal portion of the farbric. In some versions, such hinge assemblies are included along more than one side of the framework. In others, different fasteners are employed along some of the support elements. In one particular approach, the fabric is stretched directly across a separate frame that, in turn, is hinged along a support element of the main framework, so that the frame may be swung away for the purpose of obtaining access to the interior of the main framework that usually encloses a source of illumination.

  • Patent number: 4007552
Abstract: A sign frame assembly is used for constructing peripheral display panel supporting frames for internally illuminated or other type signs. The system employs three basic extruded shapes -- a generally channel-shaped main frame member, a snap-fitting cover member for mounting on the main frame member to provide an enclosed watertight wiring chamber, and a retainer member for mounting a sign display panel upon the main frame member. The basic shapes are designed for rapid assembly and to provide convenient access to the interior of the assembled frame and sign. Alternate retainer member shapes enable the display panel to be either peripherally clamped to the main frame or to be hingedly mounted upon the main frame, so that access to the sign interior may be had without completely removing the display panel. The main and cover frame members are constructed in two or more standardized sizes while a single size of retainer member is usable with all of the various sizes of main frame members.
