    Abstract: A composition and process for formulating a size and for sizing and desizing textiles using an inorganic compound are provided. One inorganic compound that may be used is basic aluminum chloride. The use of basic aluminum chloride in a size formulation creates a size that is less environmentally hazardous but effective as a size.
