Abstract: Systems and methods for coupling a clip to a wearable item with a receiver. The methods involve: receiving the clip's latch structure in the receiver's channel; sliding the latch structure's side members against a channel surface; sliding the latch structure's latch body against the channel's opening edge; bending the latch body by biasing the latch body towards the latch structure's common body portion as the latch body slides against the edge; inserting the latch body and the side members through the channel until at least the free end of the latch body no longer resides in the channel, the latch body automatically unbending when the free end of the latch body no longer resides in the channel; and preventing at least the free end of the latch body from re-entering the channel such that the clip is coupled to the wearable item.

Abstract: A hygienic bottle cap for connection to a fluid container includes a skirt and a crown portion having a cylindrical wall with an upper portion and a lower portion and forms a central well. A flapper forming a portion of the bottom surface of the center well is attached to the cylindrical wall. A score line is formed partially around the perimeter of the flapper between the flapper and the cylindrical wall, and the portion of the perimeter that is not scored remains intact upon insertion of a probe. The flapper may be separated from the cylindrical wall by the probe, and may return to its initial sealed position after the probe is retracted. In one embodiment, a protrusion is supported on an underside of the flapper in order to facilitate separation of the flapper from the cylindrical wall along the score line.

A score line is formed partially around the perimeter of the flapper between the flapper and the cylindrical wall and the portion of the perimeter that is not scored remains intact upon insertion of a probe. Alternatively, the flapper may be attached to the cylindrical wall via a bridge portion. The flapper may be separated from the cylindrical wall by the probe and the flapper may return to its initial sealed position after the probe is retracted due to the memory characteristics of the material connecting the flapper to the cylindrical wall.
