  • Patent number: 10610596
Abstract: Disclosed and claimed are methods for making solid vaccine compositions that have reduced foaming when mixed with liquid diluent. The methods include mixing an effective amount of a foam controlling agent with at least one anhydrous antigenic component, a stabilizer, and an effervescent agent. The foam controlling agent is a sugar alcohol, such as mannitol. The effective amount of sugar alcohol is about 15% to about 40% by weight of the solid vaccine composition. And, upon adding a diluent to the solid vaccine composition, the effervescent agent reacts to form gas in situ, and foam resulting from the gas is reduced.

  • Patent number: 8168750
Abstract: A nucleic acid sequence encoding a fragment of the adenovirus fiber capsid protein, a DNA construct including a replicable expression vector and at least one heterologous nucleic acid, and recombinant protein including fragment of the adenovirus fiber capsid protein. The fragment comprises the C-terminal knob and part of the shaft domain of the fiber protein of these adenoviruses. The use of recombinant proteins as an active ingredient in vaccinating compositions for conferring to an animal immunity against a pathogenic infection by an adenovirus, and methods for vaccinating a domestic bird against a pathogenic adenoviral infection.

  • Patent number: 7968695
Abstract: The present invention provides the recombinant cloning and sequencing of two of the major Eimeria maxima gametocyte antigens having molecular weights of 56 and 82 kDa and the expression of these recombinant antigens in an E. coli expression system using the plasmid pTrcHis. The subject invention also provides a vaccine against coccidiosis comprising the recombinant 56 kDa or 82 kDa antigen. The subject invention also provides two 30 kDa proteins and three 14 kDa proteins from Eimeria maxima gametocytes having at the N-terminal end the amino acid sequence described herein. The subject invention also provides a vaccine against coccidiosis comprising the recombinant 56 kDa or 82 kDa antigen and any of the aforementioned proteins.
