Abstract: The present invention relates to a DNA sequence comprising a nucleotide sequence encoding Hemorrhagic Enteritis virus. It is well known to the man of the art that determining the complete sequence of a virus enables the isolation and identification of the different genes contained therein, and their utilisation for different purposes such as for vaccination purposes, as potential vectors for gene delivery to be used in recombinant vaccination or for gene therapy. In addition, the sequence may be employed for diagnostic purposes wherein the disclosed sequence of any part thereof be used for the development of specific primers for Polymerase Chain Reaction processes (PCR) or as probes. The invention thus also concerns with HEV proteins encoded by the sequence of the invention or functional fragments thereof and to some of the uses of said sequences and proteins.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an adduct of nicotinic acid with 1-ethyl-6-fluoro-1,4-dihydro-4-oxo-7-(1-piperazinyl)-3-quinolinecarboxylic acid (Norfloxacin) in particular in a ratio of 1:1. The invention relates also to pharmaceutical compositions and to aqeuous solutions comprising said adduct.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of benzothiazepine derivatives of general formula I ##STR1## wherein R stands for hydrogen and acetyl or of acid addition salts thereof in which a corresponding compound of general formula II ##STR2## in which R has the same meaning as above is reacted with 2-(dimethylamino)-ethyl chloride in a biphasic system of water and a non-combustible aliphatic polychlorinated hydrocarbon solvent in the presence of calcium hydroxide or of barium hydroxide. The process is advantageously performed at a temperature between 15.degree. and the refluxing temperature of the aliphatic polychlorinated hydrocarbon solvent. The process is optionally performed in the presence of a suitable quaternary ammonium halide.

Abstract: This invention relates to anti-inflammatory pyridone derivatives, particularly 2,6-dimethyl-1,4-dihydro-4-oxo-3,5 pyridine-dicarboxylates and derivatives thereof which have an anti-inflammatory action, as well as compositions therewith, use of these compounds for their anti-inflammatory effect, and production thereof. These 4-oxo pyridines of the present invention, refer to in the literature as 4-(1H)-pyridones are suitably prepared by reacting a 2,6-dimethyl-4-oxo 3,5 pyrone-dicarboxylate with an aniline in an acidic medium such as acetic acid.

Abstract: There are disclosed water-soluble compositions comprising a 1,3-bis-[(p-chlorobenzylidene)-amino]-guanidine (called Robenidine) salt, particularly the hydrochloride. Said compositions comprise also a suitable water-soluble organic solvent and a suitable water-soluble solubilizer; the solvent and the solubilizer being miscible with each other. There are also disclosed aqueous solutions comprising the above composition and a method for the treatment of animals being infected with Cocciodiosis with said aqueous solution.
