In particular, the locations of files stored within a file system are selected by applying various inputs to a hash algorithm. For system files, the inputs applied to the hash algorithm can include a user name and password. For data files, the information provided to the hash algorithm can include the file name. In addition to providing random file locations, a file system in accordance with embodiments of the present invention can homogenize other information, including file names, sizes and creation dates.

Abstract: Methods and systems for delivering content to users are provided. More particularly, a search server applies server side profile information to perform an initial search for content. That content or metadata representing the content is returned to the client device. A client application running on the client device can then apply client side profile information to refine or filter the initial search results. Content identified through the application of the client side profile information can then be obtained if it has not already been downloaded to the client device, and presented to the user. Client side profile information can include information that the user does not wish to disclose, information regarding content currently being accessed by the user, and/or information regarding holes or space available for the presentation of content to the user.

More particularly, content is maintained in encrypted form on sending and receiving devices, and during transport. In addition, policies related to the use of, access to, and distribution of content can be enforced. Features are also provided for controlling the release of information related to users. The distribution and control of contents can be performed in association with a client application that presents content and that manages keys.

Abstract: Systems and methods for network congestion management are provided. More particularly, network congestion management is performed by client devices, on the edge of the network. A client device can execute a client agent that is responsible for determining whether an item of content can be delivered to a network for delivery to a recipient system or device. The client can apply a category assigned to an item of content according to a taxonomy, against a profile, to determine whether the item of content can be sent immediately, or whether the content needs to be queued for sending at a later time.

While the user is viewing streamed content, content selected through application of the user profile can also be presented to the user.
