The integrated active fiber optic temperature measuring and temperature control system comprises a fiber optic probe with a fiber bundle and a sensor with an active material functionally coupled to a first end of the probe and a housing to house a temperature measuring circuitry and a temperature control circuitry. The housing is permanently integrated with the fiber optic probe.
