A prefix and/or a suffix is added to each exception interface name for indicating that the exception interface is an exception. Where an exception error occurred is indicated and a determination is made as to what caused the exception error. Context is provided as to what was happening when the exception error occurred. Streaming of the exception is allowed to a common interface. An error message is outputted indicating that an exception error has occurred.

Abstract: A system, method, and article of manufacture are provided for implementing information services patterns associated with a relational database management system in an object-oriented persistence architecture. An object attribute is translated to and from a database value utilizing a database. Data is controlled in the database utilizing a data retrieval mechanism encapsulated in a data handler. Data access to the database is then organized among a plurality of business entities utilizing a plurality of business objects. Multiple business objects are retrieved across a network in one access operation. Retrieved data is mapped into objects. Then a warning is provided upon retrieval of objects missing at least one attribute. The warning includes information on how to handle the at least one missing attribute.

Abstract: A remote data processing system facilitates monitoring of the remote data processing system. The remote data processing system receives a data message via a communications network. The remote data processing system cascades at least a first stage software component and a second stage software component to form an installed remote software module for accepting the received data message. The remote data processing system detects the data message or a derivative at a group of logical nodes within the installed remote software module to determine flow of the data message, or a derivative thereof, between the logical nodes. The remote data processing system identifies a deficient software component of the installed remote software module as any of said software stage components that blocks or disrupts the flow of the data message between two adjacent logical nodes.

Abstract: A system, method and article of manufacture are provided for detecting nervousness in a voice in a business environment to help prevent fraud. First, voice signals are received from a person during a business event. The voice signals are analyzed during the business event to determine a level of nervousness of the person, which is then output before the business event is completed. A degree of certainty as to the level of nervousness of the person may be output to assist one searching for fraud in making a determination as to whether the person was speaking fraudulently. Optionally, the level of nervousness of the person may be output in real time. As another option, an alarm may be set off when the level of nervousness goes above a predetermined level.

Abstract: According to a broad aspect of a preferred embodiment of the invention, telephone calls, data and other multimedia information is routed through a hybrid network which includes transfer of information across the internet utilizing telephony routing information and internet protocol address information. A fault management solution is provided for the challenges of monitoring service elements for faults and degradation in performance in a hybrid network. Event gathering is performed by software interfaces which communicate directly with the network elements. Correlation is provided by use of a rules based inference engine.

Data connectivity is provided over a network between a simulated user, a simulated product distributor, a simulated product vendor, and a simulated financial service provider. Abstract: A system is provided for linking together a system of trading financial instruments to a system of clearing transactions in financial instruments. In a first aspect of the present invention, the linking system includes a network linking a plurality of trading systems and a clearing system. An external interface couples the trading systems to the network while a clearing interface couples the clearing system to the network. A transmitter module transmits trading information in a plurality of kinds of securities along the network from the trading system to the clearing system. That transmitting selectively occurs approximately simultaneously with the arrival of the trading information at the external interface. The transmitting also occurs independently of the selection of trading algorithm or clearing algorithm. A second aspect of the present invention involves a computerized method for coupling a plurality of trading systems and a clearing system with a network.

Abstract: A system, method, and article of manufacture are provided for affording consistency in a development architecture framework as components in the framework change. A reference program code is provided and a plurality of sets of updated program code are received which represent different versions of the program code. The sets of the updated program code are compared with the reference program code in order to identify information relating to changes and the information is classified in relation to the changes. Tools are also provided for managing the different versions of the program code.
