  • Patent number: 10878003
Abstract: A system and method for extracting structured information from an implicit table is disclosed. The system and method provide a way to locate and categorize structured information from an implicit table. More specifically, the system and method provide a way of determining which part of an input image document includes a dominant table and which parts of the dominant table make up rows and columns. These details give meaning to the structured information of the implicit table. These details can be used to properly place the structured information from the implicit table into a two-dimensional data structure, such as a data structure in a relational database. In other words, the structured information from a scanned or digital Portable Document Format (PDF) document can be extracted and placed into a useful format, such as a relational database.

  • Publication number: 20200401915
Abstract: A systems implements a gradient descent calculation, regression calculation, or other machine learning calculation on a dataset (e.g., a global dataset) using a coordination node including coordination circuitry that coordinates multiple worker nodes to create a distributed calculation architecture. In some cases, the worker nodes each hold a portion of the dataset and operate on their respective portion. In some cases, the gradient descent calculation, regression calculation, or other machine learning calculation is used to implement a targeted maximum likelihood scheme for causal inference estimation. The targeted maximum likelihood scheme may be used to conduct causal analysis of the observational data.

  • Patent number: 10872424
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for tracking objects over a sequence of images. In one aspect, a process includes receiving data specifying visual attributes of a particular object detected in an image. Data specifying visual attributes of a tracked object is identified. A level of similarity is determined between the particular object and the tracked object based on comparison of visual attributes of the particular object with corresponding visual attributes of the tracked object. A first normalization function is used to normalize a level of similarity between first corresponding visual attributes of the particular object and the tracked object. A second normalization function is used to normalize a level of similarity between second corresponding visual attributes of the particular object and the tracked object. A determination is made, based on the level of similarity, whether the particular object matches the tracked object.

  • Patent number: 10860731
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure leverage distributed ledger technologies to exert user-centric control over data shared with third party service providers. User access provider (UAP) devices manage user-configured permissions and metadata that control access to user data by the third party service providers. Permissions may enable service providers to access, write, and share user data with other service providers having appropriate permissions. Users may provide data to various service providers as they interact with services supported by the platform and as the data is received it may be validated and then stored on the distributed ledger. Data may be periodically synchronized across different service provider nodes responsible for maintaining the distributed ledger to ensure consistency with respect to each user's data.
