Abstract: A cursor positioning system for use with computer systems employing relative-pointing devices (e.g., trackballs or mice) for cursor positioning functions. The cursor positioning system employs a cursor driver, stored in a memory of the computer system and responsive to cursor positioning signals from the relative-pointing device, to enable fast and accurate cursor positioning to specific, predefined locations. The cursor driver responds to user-actuated signals, such as "clicks" or keystrokes to record cursor position objects at particular cursor locations. Thereafter, during cursor position selection mode, initiated by a keystroke or relative-pointing device signal, the cursor's position is moved from position object to position object. The preferred embodiment also provides for recording of bias objects, typically the same as the position objects, to attract the cursor's location towards them. This attraction reduces undershoot and overshoot of the cursor.

Abstract: A stapler with a storage chamber has an opening which is closable by a removable door or slipper. The slipper includes a flexible perimeter which fits on a frame in the stapler storage chamber. The stapler may further include one or more of the following: i) a device for stabilizing the pivotal connection between the slipper and the base when the slipper is opened and limiting pivotal displacement of the slipper; ii) a retaining device for selectively retaining and releasing the slipper relative to a base of the stapler; iii) a magnetic device for magnetically attaching the stapler to objects; iv) a reinforcement device for supporting an anvil of the stapler and frictionally latching the slipper to the base; and v) an arrangement for frictionally retaining the anvil to the base of the stapler.

Abstract: A wrist rest (1) of specially designed height and other characteristics is provided for reducing strain on the wrists and hands of a keyboard operator or a similar user of computer accessories. The rest (1) is made to be placed in front of the keyboard or accessory being used, and may be designed to have a particular firmness for comfort. In some embodiments the rest has two foam rubber layers (20,30) about 3/4 inch thick total; the bottom surface has no "skin", to prevent the rest from slipping, while the upper surface has a smooth covering (10) so hands may slide around easily and comfortably. In order to allow rests designed for a normal keyboard to be adapted for use with an especially long keyboard, or with an accessory like a mousepad (4), one embodiment (3) of the invention has contours (101) which can interlock with similar contours (100) on an extension pad (2); these contours are also designed to be easily and inexpensively manufactured.

Abstract: A sheet punch assembled of a plurality of molded parts having a handle section with a stationary jaw and a trigger section pivotal about the handle section which trigger section has a movable jaw. The handle and trigger are oriented at about a right angle to the sheet to be punched. Punched discs are collected initially in the stationary jaw and caused to thereafter move into a trigger chamber having an exit door.

Abstract: A cartridge stapler having a head, a driver blade and a sheath in which the sheath is controlled by configured sheath holes, head slots and selective positioning of the cartridge. Cartridge insertion stabilizes the sheath during normal operation to reduce jamming and upon its removal allowed for sheath movement to clear a jam.

Abstract: A pin-type punch having an arm pivotal on a base in which the punch pins for punching sheets of paper are located on the arm or on the base and die holes on are located the opposite part. To create alignment of pin-to-hole, one or the other is mounted on or is in a floating unit. Each unit is caused to float by being positioned by engagement of punch alignment pieces just prior to the pins passing through the paper into the die holes.

Abstract: A stapler in which the sheath is held in fixed operable position by a pin during operation with the sheath configured to assure such holding. Sheath opening is accomplished by action of a separate release lever which releases with ease the sheath from the pin.

Abstract: A stapler powered by a motor and gear train to move a head up and down through utilization of at least one pivotal arm having an elongated cam follower slot in the arm; a driven rotatable gear in the train gear and a pin on the gear to ride in and along the slot. The arm pivots about a spring-loaded axle. Clinching wings for clinching staples are positively driven upwardly and downwardly by a pivotal clinching arms. A manual unit is included for turning the gear train to assist in removing jams.

Abstract: A pair of detachable hooks for engagement to posts of a binder. The hooks have longitudinal and cross slots for permitting detachable engagement of the hooks on the posts.

Abstract: A stabilizer device positioned between the ring mechanism and the cover of a ring binder. The ring mechanism has a depending extension for bearing against the stabilizer device.

Abstract: A trigger lever enclosure for surrounding and enclosing the trigger of a ring binder which enclosure is rigid and larger than the trigger to increase trigger leverage. The enclosure may be removable.
