Patent number: 6371733Abstract: A combination of a pump and a control circuit for the pump includes a variable displacement pump having a swashplate, an input line and an output line. A pressure compensator valve is in fluid communication with the output line of the variable displacement pump. A first piston has a first end operatively connected to the swashplate wherein the first piston selectively exerts a first force on the swashplate. A second piston selectively exerts a second force on the swashplate wherein the second force is in the same direction as the first force. A first biasing element is operatively associated with the second piston. The first biasing element exerts a third force on the second piston, the third force being in opposition to the second force. Preferably, a second biasing element is provided which exerts a fourth force on the swashplate wherein the fourth force is in opposition to the first force.Type: GrantFiled: May 22, 2000Date of Patent: April 16, 2002Assignee: Accuspray, Inc.Inventor: Wesley E. Patent number: 6089471Abstract: A high volume, low pressure spray gun for use with air atomizable liquids includes a gun handle and a gun barrel. A plenum is defined in the gun barrel. A valve seat defined in the gun barrel communicates with the plenum. A supply air inlet in the plenum feeds supply air into the plenum. An aperture in the plenum directs air flow out of the plenum. A first outlet defined in a wall of the aperture directs fan air flow out of the aperture and a second outlet defined in the wall of the aperture directs atomizing air flow out of the aperture. A third outlet, which is located in the plenum, directs atomizing air flow out of the plenum. The third outlet is located on one side of the valve seat and the second outlet is located on the other side of the valve seat. With this construction, the valve may selectively close one of these outlets and restrict atomizing air flow out of the plenum. At the same time, fan air flow is shut off.Type: GrantFiled: March 25, 1998Date of Patent: July 18, 2000Assignee: Accuspray, Inc.Inventor: Charles T. Scholl

Patent number: 5984646Abstract: A reciprocating hydraulic motor and pump assembly includes a cylinder and a piston disposed for reciprocation in the cylinder. The piston includes a stem having a bore extending longitudinally in the stem and a piston head connected to one end of the stem. The piston head includes a cavity communicating with the bore. A spool is slidably mounted in the stem bore and the piston head cavity. A magnetic latching assembly is disposed in the piston head cavity. A displacement rod is fastened to the piston rod. The hydraulic motor and pump assembly is used in an airless paint sprayer system.Type: GrantFiled: January 12, 1998Date of Patent: November 16, 1999Assignee: Accuspray, Inc.Inventors: Wesley E. Patent number: 4993642Abstract: An improved spray nozzle for use with air atomizable liquids wherein the spray pattern created by the atomizing nozzle may be adjusted from a circular pattern to a flat pattern or alternatively to an open oval, the open end facing in preselected directions, the adjustments being capable of occurring during the continuous operation of the nozzle. The body of the gun is formed of molded plastic parts bolted together. Fluid control components incorporated into cavities in the molded gun body are easily removable and replaceable to facilitate repair and cleaning of the gun.Type: GrantFiled: December 26, 1989Date of Patent: February 19, 1991Assignee: AccuSpray, Inc.Inventor: John W. Patent number: 4869641Abstract: A compressor driven by a motor delivers air under pressure to a plurality of paint spray guns. An air circulation fan is incorporated with the motor to cool the apparatus during operation. The compressor shaft includes bearings on each end and the bearing on the lower end is physically separated from the lower end of the compressor to prevent oil contamination of the air being discharged. A pump is associated with the separated bearing which delivers oil to lubricate the bearing when the compressor is in operation.Type: GrantFiled: September 28, 1987Date of Patent: September 26, 1989Assignee: AccuSpray, Inc.Inventor: John W. Patent number: 4773832Abstract: An improved diaphragm pump in which the diaphragm has a majority of its area available for flexure and deformation thereby allowing for a variable stroke length on the diaphragm pump and decreased wear of the diaphragm in operation. Additionally such a flexible diaphragm is additionally deformed by the pressure of the fluid in the pumping chamber thereby forming a "piston" of the diaphragm as it is deformed over the deforming piston of the pump.Type: GrantFiled: October 25, 1983Date of Patent: September 27, 1988Assignee: AccuSpray, Inc.Inventor: Jack E. Patent number: 4565488Abstract: A method for protecting a compressor by reducing the differential pressure from the inlet to the outlet of the compressor by turbo-charging the inlet plenum of the compressor to reduce the normally present vacuum condition in the inlet, vacuum being simply a sub-ambient pressure. However, the inlet plenum is not increased to a pressure above ambient. Additionally by preventing a high vacuum condition from existing at the inlet plenum of the compressor by warning or even stopping the compressor if the vacuum reaches too great a level.Type: GrantFiled: October 21, 1983Date of Patent: January 21, 1986Assignee: AccuSpray, Inc.Inventor: Jack E.
