    Abstract: An apparatus and a method for discriminating the frequency of an input signal and for providing a binary output signal. The binary output signal can be used to control an indicating device and/or other circuitry. A sawtooth wave is started at zero crossings. An integral of the sawtooth wave is then compared with a threshold reference. The output signal indicates if the input signal frequency is above or below a threshold frequency.
