Patent number: 9345422Abstract: A method of locating a tip of a central venous catheter (“CVC”) having a distal and proximal pair of electrodes disposed within the superior vena cava, right atrium, and/or right ventricle. The method includes obtaining a distal and proximal electrical signal from the distal and proximal pair of electrodes and using those signals to generate a distal and proximal P wave, respectively. A deflection value is determined for each of the P waves. A ratio of the deflection values is then used to determine a location of the tip of the CVC. Optionally, the CVC may include a reference pair of electrodes disposed within the superior vena cava from which a reference deflection value may be obtained. A ratio of one of the other deflection values to the reference deflection value may be used to determine the location of the tip of the CVC.Type: GrantFiled: October 3, 2014Date of Patent: May 24, 2016Assignee: Bard Acess Systems, Inc.Inventor: Peter M. Publication number: 20140378125Abstract: A network element comprises a signal processor supporting communications between a subscriber unit (UE) and a core network (CN). The signal processor is arranged to: receive a first update request message (location or routing area) from the subscriber unit; forward the first update request message to the core network; receive from the CN a first update accept (or response) message; store at least a part of the accept message content; forward the first update response message to the subscriber unit; receive a second update request from the subscriber unit; create a second update accept (or response) message using the at least part of the stored content; and respond to the subscriber unit second update accept (or response) message direct.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 17, 2013Publication date: December 25, 2014Applicant: ip.acess LimitedInventors: John Yearsley Bromell, Nicholas Dougall Johnson

Publication number: 20100286653Abstract: Methods and apparatuses providing accessibility options for the blind and poorly sighted for use with insulin therapy systems. A remote control device, with speech output capability and comprehensive speech menu system, may monitor or intercept data generated by a blood glucose meter, and delay, modify and retransmit said data to an insulin pump. The remote control device may also be used to program and set operating parameters of an insulin pump and also record data received from an insulin pump. The remote control device may also be used in conjunction with a personal computing device.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 5, 2010Publication date: November 11, 2010Applicant: Axsol Incorporated, DBA Acess SolutionsInventors: James Kubel, Phillip Brooks, Michael A. Patent number: 7676598Abstract: A method of controlling communication between a head-end system and a number of client systems through a network, wherein, for each receiver, only a nearest one of the multicast router systems in the network is configured to forward a copy of a message addressed to the multicast groups of which the receiver is a member directly to the receiver, includes: maintaining subscriber group information linking each registered one of the number of client systems to an associated one of a plurality of subscriber groups, and allocating registered client systems to at least one multicast group, such that all client systems associated with a particular subscriber group are in a common multicast group. Information uniquely identifying the nearest multicast router system nearest to a receiver for a first client system is obtained, and the first client system is assigned to a subscriber group including at least one further client system having the same nearest multicast router system.Type: GrantFiled: February 13, 2006Date of Patent: March 9, 2010Assignee: Irdeto Acess B.V.Inventors: Albert Jan Bosscha, Jaco du Plooy

Patent number: 7058809Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed in which contact can be safely distributed and protected in a manner that is viable in terms of bandwidth economy and ensures that clients can be identified by the content received. Copies of encrypted content can be provided such that unique watermarks can be added to the copies. Content can also be both watermarked uniquely for multiple clients and multicasted to the clients. As such, content can be distributed using the bandwidth efficiency of multicasting while providing reliable content protection and watermarking.Type: GrantFiled: March 6, 2001Date of Patent: June 6, 2006Assignees: Entriq, Inc., Irdeto Acess B.V.Inventors: Mark Andrew George White, Andrew Augustine Wajs

Publication number: 20010025304Abstract: A method of and apparatus for applying a parametric search methodology to a searchable database formatted in a directory tree structure. The directory tree structure includes nodes comprising a collection of related data and branches comprising links between the nodes. Each specific node provides a corresponding set of parameters by which each related item of data corresponding to the specific node is defined by initializing the value of each parameter for each related data. The method accesses a particular node within the directory tree structure and performs a parametric search using one or more set search parameters corresponding to the specific node to generate one or more matching discrete data items, wherein each matching item corresponds to related data of the particular node. The parameters can be customizable and specific to the specific node.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 6, 2001Publication date: September 27, 2001Applicant: The Web Acess, Inc.Inventor: Robert Olan Keith

Patent number: 4835924Abstract: A self-gridding flooring system and method for installing the same in which various disclosed embodiments of gridding members are used for contacting and spacing the panels from one another as they are installed, thereby eliminating the necessity of measuring and establishing a gridding in advance of the installation of the panels. The method and apparatus provides a way of assuring that the installed panels are sufficiently spaced apart that any one or more of the panels may be removed and replaced by any geometrically similar replacement panel or panels having the same nominal dimensions and the same tolerance ranges without interference between the replacement panels and the previously-installed panels contiguous thereto. The invention is suitable for use with panels having legs and panels not having legs, and further is suitable for panels having any overall configuration, including rectangular panels and triangular panels.Type: GrantFiled: December 17, 1986Date of Patent: June 6, 1989Assignee: Tate Acess FloorsInventors: Peter A.
