  • Patent number: 10579293
Abstract: A system and computer-implemented method for storing data and for calculating data characteristics. A concentric ring buffer has a succession of representative ring buffers, each divided into segments and reflecting an increasingly long unit of a base (e.g., a time, count, or geo base) and with a decreasing level of precision. The concentric ring buffer has a fixed total memory size based on the number of ring buffers and segments. Each segment of each ring buffer is populated in a first-in-first-out manner with a value calculated for the data characteristic for a particular length of base unit and with a particular precision. When a ring buffer is full and another value is calculated, the oldest value is transferred to a next ring buffer or deleted if there is none. Further, values can be collected from multiple concentric ring buffers and consolidated in a single concentric ring buffer.

  • Publication number: 20190050841
Abstract: A system and computer-implemented method for selecting an optimal payment instrument for a particular purchaser and a particular purchase. Information for several payment instruments, selection preferences provided by the purchaser, and any additional selection information are stored in a database. Artificial intelligence selects the optimal payment instrument based on the selection preferences and the additional selection information. The preferences may be weighted to reflect a level of importance to the purchaser, and may include incentive information about, e.g., reward points, reward miles, or cash back. The additional information may include usage limitations. The selected instrument is verified with an associated payment service, a request for payment using the selected instrument is submitted, and actual payment is verified. Details of the particular purchase and of the selection of the instrument may be stored for future reference.

  • Patent number: 9231703
Abstract: A segmented optical node exploits a configuration module having arrayed all elements to go from a 1×4 to a 4×4 configuration, save optional redundant switches. A jumper board in the 1×, 2× path configures the node for 1×4 in one orientation and for 2×4 when flipped around 180 degrees. The 4×4 configuration is achieved by rotating the configuration module 90 degrees. In this orientation power to the module is also off, since the 4× configuration is passive.

  • Patent number: 9118403
Abstract: A compact automatic gain control module for an RF amplifier includes a microchip Tuner for detection of pilot signals in an incoming RF signal. By selectively tuning into pilot signals in response to command from an on-board microprocessor, the module is frequency agile in the selection of pilot signals, selecting specifically advantageous signals for use as a pilot. Use of a microprocessor also enables specific advantages in receiving firmware upgrades to incorporate algorithms for operation parameter monitoring and adjustment of response in accord with monitored parameters. Such monitoring also enables the recording of on-module events that enable storage of a log to enable maintenance and performance enhancement within the module.
