  • Patent number: 6568255
Abstract: A test stand for testing an exhaust system for a vehicle is disclosed. The test stand has a engine block having a number of cylinders. The engine block is an engine head which defines exhaust ports to couple the engine block cylinders to the exhaust system. The engine cylinder has a coupled input plenum which is coupled to the lower access port. Each input plenum has a separate burner assembly which is coupled to a fuel source. Disposed between the fuel source and the burner assembly is a valve set which is capable of adjusting the amount of fuel inserted into the input plenums. A controller is provided which adjusts the amount of fuel into the input plenums.

  • Patent number: 4886369
Abstract: A mixing apparatus includes an elongated cylindrical mixing chamber having a hollow body and opposed end walls attached thereto and closing off the hollow body. A discharge port extends through the body and into the mixing chamber between the end walls. Each end wall has an inner face, an opposed outer face and a plurality of nozzle bores extending therethrough and spaced about the center of the end wall. The bores diverge outwardly toward the body at an angle relative to the longitudinal axis of the chamber. The bores are also skewed with respect to a radial line extending outwardly from the center of the end walls and the bores of each end wall are skewed in the same direction. In this manner, a fluid entering through the nozzle bores of one end wall will contact and mix thoroughly within the mixing chamber with a fluid entering through the nozzle bores of the other end wall.

  • Patent number: 4647212
Abstract: A mixing apparatus includes an elongated cylindrical mixing chamber having a hollow body and opposed end walls. The mixer also includes a first entry port extending through a first of the end walls and into the mixing chamber, with a first nozzle plate mounted within the mixing chamber and adjacent the first entry port. The mixer also includes a second entry port extending through the remaining end wall and into the mixing chamber, with a second nozzle plate mounted within the mixing chamber and adjacent to the second entry port. The nozzle plates are spaced apart from one another within the mixing chamber. The mixer also has a discharge port extending through the hollow body and into the mixing chamber. The mixer may also include an intake port extending through the hollow body and into the mixing chamber. The intake and the discharge ports are preferably positioned longitudinally on the hollow body between the nozzle plates and opposite one another.

  • Patent number: 4627640
Abstract: An automatically foldable and unfoldable album assembly includes a front cover and a rear cover hingedly joined together and a plurality of foldable sheets joined together in strip fashion. Each sheet contains four panels which are joined together along diagonal fold lines. A pair of opposed inner panels are provided with central vertical folds. The outer panels of adjacent sheets are joined together and are joined to the front and rear cover to form a strip. When one sheet is closed, a sheet adjacent thereto will automatically be opened.
