Abstract: A reusable container for holding and dispensing rolls of disposal bags of large, medium and small axial lengths has a top panel, a bottom panel and first and second side panels formed from a unitary piece of corrugated cardboard, or the like, into a parallelpied container having a cavity divided into individual compartments for rolls with which elongated dispensing openings communicate. Opposed inwardly-projecting end flaps hingedly connected to the bottom panel have a substantially flat abutment panel located inside the cavity of the container and located a predetermined minimum distance from an associated end of the cavity. The ends of each dispensing opening associated with large rolls are substantially aligned with the abutment panels of both inwardly-projecting end flaps. One end of each dispensing opening associated with the medium and small rolls are substantially aligned with one of the abutment panels of the inwardly-projecting end flaps.
Abstract: On a spring-assisted handle-operated rocker recliner, each side linkage is provided with a forward and a rear landing gear. On each side, the links on which the contact elements (such as rollers) are mounted, are pivoted at intermediate locations on each, to the main flange of the respective side linkage. The ends nearest to the middle of the respective rocker cam are both pivoted to a set of links that, in effect, pull up those ends as the handle, and therefore the torque tube, is rotated to thrust the ottoman, and to push down those ends as the torque tube is rotated to retract the ottoman. The flange on each side linkage is provided with slots, which are enlarged at one end for facilitating mounting the flange on the respective rocker cam.
Abstract: A motion furniture article is disclosed that includes arm frames and false showy feet connected to a stationary base of the article, as opposed to a movable seat unit of the article. As a consequence, during movement of the movable seat of the article between fully erect and reclining positions, the false showy feet remain stationary.
Abstract: A low-leg reclining chair disclosed includes a base, right and left sides, a seat, a back, an ottoman having a primary section and a secondary section. The seat, back and the primary and secondary sections of the ottoman are interconnected by reclining mechanisms mounted as mirror-image duplicates of each other on the sides of the chair. The reclining mechanisms permit movement of the seat, back and ottoman between a fully erect position, in which the primary section remains exposed along the chair beneath the seat with the secondary section concealed behind the primary section, and at least one reclining position, in which both the primary and secondary sections are extended with the secondary section positioned between the primary section and the seat. The reclining mechanisms include a multiple-link linkage subassembly having upper and lower forward links that interconnect the primary and secondary sections to a seat-mounting link.
Abstract: A furniture piece comprises: a sofa frame; a plurality of seating sections connected to and associated with the sofa frame, one of which is a reclining seating section; and a foldable bed. The configuration described hereinabove provides both reclining seat and sleeping capability, and does so in the same furniture piece.
Abstract: A safety edge assembly, for a movable closure such as a garage door, automatically reverses the direction of travel of the door when the door encounters an obstruction. The safety edge assembly includes an electrically conductive mounting rail fixed to the door, and a deformable tubular member supported on the mounting rail. A conductive member on the tubular member is movable, upon deformation of the tubular member, from a first position normally spaced from the conductive mounting rail into a second position in engagement with the conductive mounting rail to complete an electrical circuit for controlling the direction of movement of the door. An end plug for closing the open end of the tubular member has a nonconductive portion for insertion between the end of the conductive member, which may fray or otherwise move out of position while being cut to length in the field, and the end of the conductive mounting rail to provide electrical insulation therebetween.
