Abstract: Systems and methods for creating quilt blocks are provided. In one embodiment, a method for creating a quilt block with a computerized embroidery machine includes sewing placement stitching on a backing according to a placement stitching pattern provided by instructions for at least partially creating a quilt block comprised of one or more pieces, providing directions for placing one or more pieces of the quilt block on a corresponding portion of the placement stitching on the backing, and sewing the one or more pieces to the backing in accordance with the instructions.
Abstract: A method for creating a quilt block includes securing a backing in an embroidery hoop and attaching the embroidery hoop to an embroidery machine. A block selection is provided to the embroidery machine. The block includes one or more pieces that form the block. Selection of the block also includes a set of instructions for sewing the pieces together to form the block. A placement pattern is sewed on the backing according to the instructions. Each piece of the block is placed on a corresponding portion of the placement pattern. The pieces are then sewed to the backing to form the block.

The user is associated with a user account. The method includes saving the user-customized embroidery design on the communication device in response to receiving a save request from the user to save the user-customized embroidery design on the communication device. The method also includes initiating a monetary charge to the user account in response to saving the user-customized embroidery design on the communication device.
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and system for using a wireless transmission between an embroidery machine and a source system to update stitch data in a memory card. A command to update the stitch data in the memory card is received. Once it is determined that the memory card is not currently in use, the memory card is logically disconnected from the embroidery machine. The new stitch data is then transferred from a source system to the memory card via a wireless connection, and the contents of the memory card are updated with the new stitch data. The memory card is then logically reconnected to the embroidery machine and the new stitch data is ready to be used by the embroidery machine.
