Abstract: The present invention relates to a recombinant E. coli strain producing 1,3-butanediol from glucose and a method for producing 1,3-butanediol using same, in which a recombinant E. coli strain was developed in which a gene of a pathway necessary for biosynthesis of 1,3-BDO from acetyl-CoA is cloned, and a gene of a pathway that interferes with or competes with this pathway is removed, wherein an E. coli strain was developed in which the pathways and genes involved in the conversion of glucose to acetyl COA, the regeneration rate of NADPH used as a cofactor, and the efficient use of the TCA cycle pathway, which are necessary to improve the biosynthetic efficiency of 1,3-BDO, are modified and optimized.

Abstract: The present application relates to a preservative comprising caprylic hydroxamic acid, 4?-hydroxyacetophenone, and a polyol for an externally-applied skin preparation, and use thereof, and a preservative for an externally-applied skin preparation according to an aspect exhibits excellent anti-bacterial or anti-septic effect effects against bacteria and fungi. In particular, even though it includes 4?-hydroxyacetophenone and caprylyl glycol as active ingredients, a preservative for an externally-applied skin preparation according to an aspect does not show a deterioration in anti-bacterial or anti-septic effects against bacteria and fungi and maintains significantly excellent anti-bacterial or anti-septic effects, when applied to a cosmetic composition including a surfactant.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a Lactobacillus reuteri JH53 strain with excellent organic acid resistance and conversion rate of glycerol to 1,3-propanediol, and the use thereof. The strain of the present invention has excellent organic acid resistance and conversion rate of glycerol to 1,3-propanediol compared to the parent strain. Thus, if the strain of the present invention, which is generally recognized as safe (GRAS) for humans, is used in the process of producing 1,3-propanediol from crude glycerol, it may have the advantages of being safe, being environmentally friendly, and recycling resources, unlike existing GMO strains, and thus will be very useful in related industries.

Abstract: Lactobacilus reuteri CH53 strain has high productivity of 1,3-propanediol from glycerol and uses thereof. It is confirmed that Lactobacilus reuteri CH53 strain is capable of converting at very high yield glycerol or crude glycerol to high-concentration 1,3-propanediol. Since Lactobacilus reuteri CH53 strain of the present invention capable of producing large amounts of 1,3-propanediol is one kind of lactic acid bacteria that are safe for humans (GRAS, Generally Recognized As Safe), when it is used for producing 1,3-propanediol from crude glycerol, it would be very advantageously used, unlike existing GMO strains, in related industries from the viewpoint of safety or environment and also providing an advantage of recycled use of resources.
