  • Patent number: 10285089
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for optimizing a real cellular, wireless communication network that combines mobility load balancing (MLB) with coverage and capacity optimization (CCO) in a joint and coordinated optimization. An optimal set of physical base station parameters is determined by performing an iterative direct search. The iterative direct search comprises a partitioning strategy to jointly determine an optimal partition of the served area and an associated optimal load of each of the plurality of base stations for a current set of physical base station parameters for each direct search iteration; said partitioning strategy using an updated value of the received power of the pilot or reference signal for each the plurality of user locations associated with the current set of physical base station parameters for each direct search iteration.

  • Patent number: 8428171
Abstract: A method is provided for planning and optimizing the configuration of a radio access network which comprises base stations and receivers and employs a mobile radio technology that allows and/or enforces use of multi-antenna types at said base stations and receivers. By a ray tracing algorithm which is performed between said transmitter positions and said receiver positions using a 3D clutter height matrix, a scalar metric is determined for each receiver position which directly reflects a capacity gain resulting from applying a multi-antenna type instead of a single antenna at said transmitter and receiver positions. This scalar metric allows in an algorithmically advantageous way to analyze the relative performance of different MIMO antenna types in a potential deployment area and to select and deploy an optimal MIMO antenna type for a particular coverage sector.

  • Patent number: 7877095
Abstract: A method of adapting a radio network model to conditions of a real radio network consists of the following steps: defining different measuring positions; carrying out measurements of variables at the different measuring positions, thereby generating measured data; providing position-dependent modelling values, using the measured data for the modelling values from the real radio network obtained at the measuring positions; setting a fine grid in a radio cell, defining small area portions, wherein one or more of the modelling values is attributed to each area portion by the radio network model. Mathematical operations are then established for modifying the modelling values of all area portions of the fine grid by adapting the modelling values to the measured data. In this manner, the mathematical operations are for each area portion and directly dependent on the measured data and the position of the respective area portions.

  • Patent number: 7353160
Abstract: In a method for controlling sequential object-oriented system-simulations, presentation of an object of a group of objects to an instance-to-class is carried out in the following manner. The instance is produced by adjusting at least one parameter in the part of a simulation program. The instances produce and treat events for simulating a communication between objects, the simulation process being controlled by the activation of instances. The simulation process control is carried out according to a cycle consisting of determined cycle steps, the events being recorded in an event-recording area which is assigned to a target instance.
