Patents Assigned to Actuant Corporation
  • Patent number: 7322628
Abstract: A clamp type travel lock secures a slide-out section of a vehicle in a retracted position. The travel lock is pivotally disposed in a pocket of the slide-out wall. An actuator of the travel lock is accessible from an interior side opening of the slide-out wall and a lock arm is extendible through an exterior side opening of the slide-out wall. Pivoting the travel lock from a stowed position extends the actuator and the lock arm through the respective interior and exterior side openings of the slide-out wall. The actuator can then be operated from an interior of the slide-out section to move the lock arm to clamp the lock arm against an interior surface of the exterior vehicle wall. When the travel lock is stowed within the slide-out wall the slide-out section can be moved between retracted and extended positions.

  • Patent number: 7295130
Abstract: A hand tool which provides an alarm signal to a user as the tool approaches a live electrical wire is disclosed. The hand tool comprises a tool head and coupled to a handle. A non-contact voltage sensing circuit is provided in the handle of the tool. As the tool approaches a live electrical wire, the non-contact voltage sensing circuit detects the voltage across the air gap between the tool head and the electrical wire, triggering an alarm circuit. The alarm circuit provides a visual or audio signal to the user.

  • Patent number: 7234758
Abstract: A gear operated pivoting travel lock secures a slide-out section of a vehicle in a retracted position. The travel lock includes a gear box, containing two mating worm gears, that mounts to a wall of the slide-out section. The drive gear is mounted at the end of an operating member and the driven gear is mounted to an axle. Two pivot arms are mounted at the ends of the axle. Turning the operating member, preferably by a handle member, rotates the drive gear to mesh with the driven gear. As the driven gear rotates, the pivot arms swing out from a collapsed position to an engaged position. When the slide-out section is retracted within the vehicle, a pressure pad at the end of the pivot arms clamps against an interior surface of the vehicle wall. When the travel lock is collapsed the slide-out section can be moved between the retracted and extended positions.

  • Patent number: 7204536
Abstract: A recreational vehicle has pivot out rooms across the hallway from one another, at least partially overlapping from side to side along the length of the vehicle and arranged so that when they are retracted they create a hallway that has generally parallel sides. A thrust bearing supports the weight of each pivot out room and the hinge axis is inside of the vehicle so as to move the seal flange of the pivot out room out away from the recreational vehicle wall so as not to destroy the seals upon opening and to create a seal upon opening. A cog drive can be used to drive the room in and out and bear some of the room weight.

  • Patent number: 7194947
Abstract: A hydraulic actuating device for moving a retractable hard-top of a convertible car. The actuating device comprises a double-acting hydraulic actuator, the first connection of the actuator being in communication with an associated throttling assembly which is designed to provide either an optionally controllable throttling or a clear passage opening, which is larger than the throttling opening, as a function of a switching parameter. The throttling assembly has a pressure-detection means for detecting the hydraulic pressure in the second working chamber, which pressure-detection means has associated with it a predetermined switching pressure. The throttling assembly is designed such that—when pressurized hydraulic fluid is supplied to the second working chamber—the clear passage opening is active if the detected pressure in the second working chamber is above the switching pressure and that the throttling is active if the detected second working chamber hydraulic pressure is below the switching pressure.

  • Patent number: 7071418
Abstract: A cable fastener for stacking cables has a base that is positioned against the stud on a lower surface of the base, a spine that extends from the upper surface of the base and arms that extend perpendicularly from the spine and define slots between them. The slots have open ends that are closed by a separate L-shaped leg that is hinged to the base adjacent to the end of the lower-most slot so it can be pivoted to a position generally perpendicular to the base and adjacent to the ends of the slots so as to close the slots. The end of the leg distal from the base has a locking member for engaging the uppermost arm or another component of the fastener to lock the leg so as to block the open ends of the slots. The leg is hinged to the base by a living hinge that can be formed in the plastic molding process. On the side of the spine opposite from the arms, a nail guide member extends for nailing the fastener to the stud.

  • Patent number: 7055637
Abstract: A hydraulic tilting device for tilting a cab of a vehicle between a driving position and a tilted position, which cab is resiliently supported on the chassis of the vehicle. The tilting device includes a reservoir for hydraulic fluid and a pump which is connected to the reservoir. The tilting device also includes a double-acting hydraulic tilting cylinder for tilting the cab. At the tilting cylinder there is a lost-motion passage which extends between ports which open out into the cylinder space of the tilting cylinder, which ports are respectively in communication with the pressure chamber and the pull chamber of the tilting cylinder if the piston-piston rod assembly is in the lost-motion range defined by the ports. The tilting device is designed in such a manner that the reciprocating movements of the piston-piston rod assembly within the lost-motion range can take place with as little obstacle as possible.
