    Abstract: A system, method, and computer program product are provided for using rules to identify missing charges with charge data. In accordance with an embodiment of the present invention, a transaction representing an individual patient visit is identified, and missing charges within the transaction are determined based on application of the rules. For example, a rule can be applied to detect a missing charge when a charge for surgery appears without the appearance of a corresponding charge for anesthesia.
