  • Publication number: 20140019068
Abstract: Systems and methods for automatically evaluating the useful life of an engine oil based on data corresponding to a plurality of preselected key oil properties. The evaluation includes determining, in connection with each of the pre-selected key oil properties, a first current measured oil property value, a first reference oil property value, a first deterioration-limit value, and a first weighting factor. The evaluation also includes determining a single index value, indicating a state of deterioration of the engine oil, in a calculation using each of the values and factors.

  • Patent number: 7207406
Abstract: A front hood assembly has the front hood of a motor vehicle hinged to the chassis of the motor vehicle via at least one hinge, the front hood being lockable via at least one hood lock for locking the front hood with the body of a motor vehicle. To this end, the hood lock allows a horizontal displacement of the front hood even if it is locked. The locking element of the front hood allows a displacement of the front hood into horizontal escape space while the front hood remains locked.

  • Patent number: 6934999
Abstract: A double-armed hinge for use in a motor vehicle, includes a first bar for fastening to a front bonnet of said motor vehicle, a second bar for fastening to a body of said motor vehicle, a first arm, a second arm, and a thrust piece. At least one of said first arm and said second arm is constructed in two parts and includes a first strut and a second strut. The thrust piece thrust piece is applied to one of said first strut and said second strut. The thrust piece includes a head configured to grip behind the first or second strut. The first and second struts are pivotably connected to each other by a connecting joint and rigidly braced to each other by a connection device. The connecting device yields under a given load so that, under a sudden load that exceeds the given load, the connection device breaks and the first and second bars come closer to each other substantially without resistance.

  • Patent number: 6116220
Abstract: A fuel injection pump, with an injection adjusting piston that serves to adjust the onset of injection, in which due to an off-center coupling to a cam part of the cam drive of a fuel injection pump embodied as a distributing injection pump, the injection adjusting piston is subjected to tilting moments during operation. In addition, the injection adjusting piston is subjected to other forces by means of a radially produced pressure fluid supply on a side of the injection adjusting piston disposed essentially opposite the coupling, and these other forces, together with the tilting moment forces, produce high, one-sided pressure loads in the radial direction on the injection adjusting piston. By producing a second pressure field, the injection adjusting piston undergoes a compensation of the above-mentioned forces acting on the injection adjusting piston and consequently experiences a significantly reduced radial load.
