  • Patent number: 6086400
Abstract: A cable connector coupling having a nut for attachment to a cable connector and a body joined to the nut so that the cable of the cable connector passes through the nut and body, the nut having a first internal annular groove and the body having a first external annular groove, with a lock ring positioned in the first grooves so that the nut and body translate axially together, an annular engagement ring positioned around the body for sliding axially on the body, the engagement ring having a second internal annular groove and the body having a second external annular groove, with a drive ring positioned in the second grooves, with the nut and engagement ring axially interengaging for varying the overall axial length of the nut and body as the nut is rotated relative to the body, with the body and engagement ring interengaging for limiting rotation of the engagement ring relative to the body, and with the drive ring and body interengaging for urging the engagement ring and nut into engagement for limiting rota

  • Patent number: 6041431
Abstract: A method for processing encoded data using error control coding in accordance with the present invention includes: a) obtaining Q codewords and P codewords from a storage location, wherein the Q codewords and the P codewords are all obtained in a single pass through the storage location, b) calculating P partial syndromes for said P codewords, c) calculating Q partial syndromes for the Q codewords, and d) storing the Q partial syndromes and the P partial syndromes in a buffer that is separate from the main memory. In some embodiments, storing the Q partial syndromes and the P partial syndromes in the buffer includes storing the Q partial syndromes in a first buffer, and storing the P partial syndromes in a second buffer.

  • Patent number: 5938747
Abstract: A method for queuing hardware control blocks, such as SCBs, for a system including a system processor coupled to a plurality of host adapter devices and a buffer memory controller device by an I/O bus is based on use of an endless new hardware command block queue, and an endless done hardware command block queue. The hardware command blocks for a plurality of devices, where each device includes a device processor, are managed by forming an endless queue for a device in a memory external to the device. A first pointer to the endless queue is maintained in a memory that is not within the memory space of the device processor. A second pointer to the endless queue is maintained in a memory addressable by the device processor. The first and second pointers address the head and tail hardware command block array sites of the endless queue.

  • Patent number: 4726403
Abstract: A banding tool and method of operation for tightening and securing a band about an article within predetermined tension limits and for automatically locking that tension once the predetermined tension has been attained, which tool includes a receiver element, a first gripping element for incrementally advancing the banding material through the tool, a second gripping element for securing the banding material within the tool as the banding material is being tightened about the article, an actuator unit for predetermining tension limits and for precisely determining when that predetermined band tension about the article has been reached and which automatically locks the tension into the band once that tension is attained about the article, a bending element for bending the banding material after the predetermined tension has been locked about the article, and a cutting member for severing the excess banding material from the band while maintaining the predetermined tension.

  • Patent number: 4646393
Abstract: A clamping band for affixing an electromagnetic shielding sleeve to an electrical cable or the like, which band may be positioned around the connector and tightened by a pulling force, and which band can be removed and replaced. The band comprises a single strip of metal with a strap section and a buckle section, with the buckle section having an opening for receiving the strap section to form a circle for positioning about the shield and connector. The band is tightened by pulling to the desired size, after which it is folded over to lock the band in place and cut to an appropriate length.

  • Patent number: RE35075
Abstract: An extension box for electrical .[.condulets.]. .Iadd.CONDULET boxes .Iaddend.or junction boxes can be used by itself as a basic junction box in an electrical conduit system or as an auxiliary junction box coupled to a basic junction box to increase the interior volume of or extend a branch conduit system from the basic junction box. The body of the extension box has coupling hubs leading through the body walls to the body interior, for receiving ends of electrical conduits. Complementary male and female coupling formations are provided at the open front and back of the extension box body to permit two or more extension boxes to be coupled in stacked relation to a conventional junction box such as a .[.condulet.]. .Iadd.CONDULET.Iaddend.. Removable covers close the open back of the extension box.
