Abstract: An apparatus and method for setting a region of interest of a vehicle that is being driven is provided. The apparatus includes an image capturing unit configured to capture a front image of the vehicle that is being driven, a memory configured to store a program for setting the region of interest of the vehicle that is being driven, and a processor. The processor obtains a current position of the vehicle and lane information corresponding to the current position based on the front image captured by the image capturing unit by executing the program, and sets the region of interest needed for recognition of a signal light based on the obtained lane information, and the processor sets a region including a lane corresponding to another vehicle driving in the same direction as the vehicle that is being driven in the front image as the region of interest.
