    Abstract: An absorbable high-strength zinc alloy implant material includes a first tier material selected from the group consisting of Zn, Fe, and Mg, wherein Zn is in a range between about 90% and about 99% by weight and Fe and Mg is in a combined range between about 1% and about 10% by weight. The implant material can also include a second tier material being one or more element selected from the group consisting of Ag, Cu, Ce, Li, Sr, Mn, and rare earth elements, wherein the second tier material is between about 0.001% and about 10% by weight.
