  • Patent number: 6953420
Abstract: The heated roller of a heating device for warming a film strip comprising thermoplastic plastic is embodied to be manufactured less expensively, including its coating, even with a relatively large diameter. Moreover, it is lighter and can be brought to a more uniform temperature. This is accomplished in that the heated roller comprises a plurality individual segments that can be produced, including all holes, webs and grooves, from an aluminum alloy in an extrusion-molding process. A special clamping strip connects adjacent individual segments together to form the roller.

  • Patent number: 6851920
Abstract: An improved process of stacking parts comprising thermoplastic plastic in an intermediate-storage cage, and the further transport of the stacks to subsequent devices. A pivotable stacking cage effects the transfer of the stacks onto a transverse conveyor belt, or directly to finishing devices, with the parts selectively standing up or lying down, so the apparatus is suited for both flat and tall parts. The method can be used with high cycle numbers, and allows for the mounting of devices that reliably prevent the parts from drifting apart in the intermediate-storage cage, which is particularly advantageous for flat parts.

  • Patent number: 6699006
Abstract: A method to improve the stacking of containers comprising thermoplastic plastic, and the transfer of the stacks to a successive device. Stacks of a predetermined number are intended to be produced without disturbances, even with a high cycle number of the shaping tool. This is achieved in that the containers are stacked in a first stack magazine, which is exchanged for an adjacent stack magazine between two cycles of the shaping tool after the predetermined number has been reached. The containers are stacked in the stack magazines directly from the shaping tool, or by an intermediate transfer device.

  • Patent number: 6692212
Abstract: The transfer of stacks comprising molded plastic containers from stacking magazines into downstream devices in terms of susceptibility to disturbances, with the molding apparatus having a large number of cycles is improved. The method requires simple format parts, and permit a rapid format change when the apparatus is converted to a different container format. This is achieved be stack cages comprising stacking-magazine rows that can be displaced perpendicular to the stacking direction and removed from the other stacking-magazine rows. They are guided to a removal station, unloaded and placed onto the stacking-magazine rows remaining on the other side in the stacking station.

  • Patent number: 6655903
Abstract: The invention considerably reduces the danger of deformation for containers made from a thermoplastic material during the transfer to a stacking magazine or into a locally fixed catch plate. This deformation danger results from the fact that the formed stack must be displaced within a short time by the stack distance, either through the transferred containers themselves or by components of a catch plate that is moved forward with each cycle. This is achieved through displacing the stacks in the stacking magazines or the locally fixed catch plate with a displacement device. The displacement device can be combined with the stack removal device or can be a separate displacement device. According to a modification of the invention, the method is intended to improve the cooling of the stacked containers.

  • Patent number: 6558150
Abstract: The method of moving a turntable in an apparatus for molding and punching out containers from a thermoplastic plastic foil by a differential pressure is to be executed such that relatively-small gravitational forces occur as the end positions of the pivoting movement are approached. In this way, the apparatus can be operated with a high stroke number, and not necessitate complicated curved paths. This is attained through the reduction of the distance between the center of gravity of the unit comprising the turntable and the lower tool half and a fixed pivot point in the first half of the pivoting angle during the pivoting of the turntable, with the distance being increased again in the second half of the pivoting angle. This change in position supports the accelerating or braking of the turntable.

  • Patent number: 6550224
Abstract: A method for producing stand-up blister packages, and in particular a stable, easy-to-fill stand-up blister package that has no undercut of the blister dome, and can be produced with a high cycle number, without malfunctions and with a good, reproducible quality, in hot-seal machines. For this purpose, a fold line is produced through the heating of a linear region, independently of the heating during the process of sealing the blister edges with the carrier part. The apparatus has a corresponding heating station for heating and creating a fold line in the blister dome.

  • Patent number: 5564569
Abstract: A package includes a planar base part, a hood part including a top wall and a plurality of side walls oriented at an angle to each other and the top wall. A flap joins each side wall and extends angularly therefrom. The flaps are secured face-to-face to the base part. There are further provided first and second panels carried by two oppositely located side walls, each projecting beyond a plane of a side wall which interconnects the oppositely located side walls. The interconnecting side wall extends toward an external edge of the base part. Such external edge of the base part and the external edges of the first and second panels define a standing plane for an upright positioning of the package on a supporting surface.

  • Patent number: 4565513
Abstract: Apparatus for shaping and cutting articles from a thermoplastic sheet and for stacking the articles in a stacking chute. A transporting device advances the sheet through the apparatus. The sheet is heated as it advances through the apparatus. A table is located downstream of the heater in the direction of advance of the sheet and is movable between a first position for shaping and cutting the articles and a second position for stacking the articles. A bearing pin is operatively associated with the table so that the table can be displaced by and pivoted about the bearing pin. A first guide device is mounted for being displaced perpendicular to the direction of advance of the sheet, with the bearing pin being seated in the first guide device. A bell crank drive is connected to the table via an articulated connection with the bearing pin for moving the table between the first and second positions.

  • Patent number: 4508670
Abstract: The temperature of upper and lower parts of a forming tool making deep-drawn thermoplastic articles is controlled with a system which performs the steps of passing a coolant of predetermined total volume through the upper part and the lower part of the forming tool; measuring the temperature of the upper and lower parts; determining the actual temperature difference between the upper and lower parts; comparing the actual temperature difference with a predetermined desired temperature difference; generating a signal representing the magnitude of deviation between the actual and desired temperature differences; and, as a function of the signal, increasing the volume of coolant passing through one of the forming tool parts and decreasing the volume of coolant passing through the other of the forming tool parts for reducing the magnitude of deviation while maintaining the total volume unchanged.

  • Patent number: 4253364
Abstract: An apparatus for withdrawing a continuous band of multi-article skin packages from a skin packing machine includes a clamping device for periodically grasping the band and stepwise withdrawing it from the skin packing machine in a direction of band feed; a first cutter for severing the band parallel to the direction of band feed; and a second cutter for severing the band transversely to the direction of band feed. The two cutters can divide each multi-article skin package into smaller, single-article packages. The apparatus further has a punch for providing hanger holes in the packages simultaneously with the severing operation of the second cutter; a sled carrying the clamping device, the second cutter and the punch back and forth parallel to the direction of band feed. A control intermittently and simultaneously actuates the second cutter and the punch at predeterminable locations when the sled travels against the direction of band feed.
