Publication number: 20180304509Abstract: A description is given of a component (1) having at least one area of plastic (3, 21), which extends with the surface (32) thereof that is facing a front side (28) along a reference plane (22). The component is characterized in that, in this area of plastic (3, 21), the wall of plastic (27) has a wall thickness (d) in the range of 0.2-5 mm, in this area of plastic (3, 21) there is formed a continuous two-dimensional grid (30) of channel-shaped depressions (6), in which depressions (6) the wall of plastic (27), while keeping substantially the same wall thickness (d), is offset out of the reference plane (22) by an offset (v) and, perpendicularly to the reference plane (22), in the depressions (6) the offset (v) lies in the range of 1.5 to 5 times the wall thickness (d) from the reference plane (22) to the surface (32) of the rear side (29), wherein the grid (30) forms a pattern comprising a multiplicity of grid cells (31) recurring in two directions of the reference plane (22).Type: ApplicationFiled: October 11, 2016Publication date: October 25, 2018Applicant: Adval Tech Holding AGInventor: Markus GÖBEL

Publication number: 20150093591Abstract: A method for producing a pot-shaped component from a flat blank. The method comprises the following steps: a) shaping the flat blank in at least one deep-drawing step to form a pot-shaped raw component having a substantially flat bottom area and a circumferential frame, b) shaping said pot-shaped in a tool having a conically tapered die that applies shear to the circumferential surface of the frame in the axial direction against the conically tapered die. In step b), the bottom area is clamped at between an ejector and a hold-down means and the conically tapered die surrounds the bottom area of the raw component radially on the outside and extends in a diameter-reducing manner in the tool stroke.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 28, 2013Publication date: April 2, 2015Applicant: Adval Tech holding AGInventors: Tom Walde, Adrian Marti

Patent number: 7392683Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the production of a rolled edge from an edge section (11) of a tube, wherein a flanging die is driven onto the edge section and flanges it into a roll. According to the invention, an initial area (14) of the edge section (11) is previously rolled in a positive fit manner by means of a forcibly controlled tool (30). This prevents buckling of the initial area (14), which has a controlled geometry as a result of rolling. The novel method is preferably used in the production of valve seats in so-called aerosol domes (10) for spray cans.Type: GrantFiled: March 18, 2002Date of Patent: July 1, 2008Assignee: Adval Tech Holding AGInventors: Rudolf Lüthi, Yasar Renkci, Hans Jöhr

Publication number: 20060230809Abstract: The present invention relates to a device on a press and to a method for incrementally conveying workpieces in a longitudinal direction from a receiving station through at least one tooling station of the press with the aid of conveying means for the workpieces, which conveying means are moved back and forth in cycles and in synchrony with the movement of the press in the longitudinal direction, as well as in a transverse direction substantially perpendicular thereto in order to grip or release the workpieces. The conveying means are here moved in the longitudinal direction by means of an external drive unit which is merely synchronized with the movement of the press. The motor-powered external drive unit is mechanically coupled to the conveying means in such a way that the conveying means can be moved back and forth without reversing the rotation of the external drive unit.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 3, 2004Publication date: October 19, 2006Applicant: Adval Tech Holding AGInventors: Rudolf Luthi, Theo Engolf

Patent number: 7019251Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing lamella packets (e.g. 70) such as those used for adjustable steering columns in automobiles. According to the invention, at least one of the lamellae (e.g. 71) is provided with a collar (71.1) and is joined to another lamella (e.g. 72) so that the collar (71.1) of the first lamella (71) is supported against the other lamella (72) whereby defining the width (B) of a space between the lamellae (71, 72). Both lamellae (71, 72) are welded at at least one location of the collar (71.1). The welding is preferably carried out by resistance welding. In order to obtain defined ratios, the edge of the lamella collar (71.1) is preferably provided with projecting points (Z). The method is, among other things, advantageous in that the same material quality can be used for all lamellae (1–74).Type: GrantFiled: June 17, 2002Date of Patent: March 28, 2006Assignee: Adval Tech Holding AGInventor: Hans Jöhr

Patent number: 6918170Abstract: The invention relates to a tubular rivet connection between at least one first (1) and one second metal sheet (2). According to the invention, the tubular rivet (3) is made from the metal of the first metal sheet (1) by deforming, in a drawing direction (Z), the edge area of a first hole (4) located in the first metal sheet (1) into a second, larger hole (5) located in the second metal sheet (2), whereby the second hole (5) located in the second metal sheet (2) is, in particular, gradually enlarged with regard to its diameter in the drawing direction (Z). The invention provides that the tubular rivet (3) is shorter in length in the drawing direction (Z) than the thickness of the second metal sheet (2). To this end, the thickness tolerance of commercially available metal sheets is taken into account and damages to the tools and/or the formation of chips is/are prevented.Type: GrantFiled: May 21, 2001Date of Patent: July 19, 2005Assignee: Adval Tech Holding AGInventor: Rudolf Luthi

Patent number: 6810574Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing lamella packets (60, 70) of the type normally used in adjustable steering columns in automobiles and which comprise a soft lamella (71) made of soft sheet metal material and at least one layered hard lamella (71) placed on top of said material. The lamella (71, 74) are connected by at least one rivet made of soft lamella (71). The method is characterized by the use of presses (110, 120) positioned one after the other. A soft lamella (71) is formed and stamped out of a strip (111) of said softer material in the first press (110) at a rate dictated by the press (110). Soft lamella (71) produced in this matter are transported to the second press (120). At least one hard lamella (72, 74) is completely formed in a second press (120) from a band (121) of harder sheet material and then stamped. Said hard lamella is placed over a soft lamella (71) and a rivet connection is produced.Type: GrantFiled: July 16, 2002Date of Patent: November 2, 2004Assignee: Adval Tech Holding, AGInventors: Rudolf Luthi, Hans Johr, Urs Graf
