Abstract: A composite endless belt for use in printers, imaging devices and the like comprises a nonwoven, porous, open pore thermoplastic substrate having one or more electrically conductive elastomeric coatings thereon. The substrate, which comprises a combination of short fibers and fibrids or a randomly laid continuous fiber, is formed into an endless loop and the overlapping ends thereof are welded together ultrasonically. The belt is very thin, the combined thickness of the substrate and coating or coatings being less than about 0.015 inches.
