    Abstract: To detect motion of an object, a repetitive video signal representative of the object at successive points in time is generated. At least a portion of successive repetitions of the video signal is integrated. The successive integrations are compared with each other. The integrated portion is preferably selected to optimize motion detection for the size and extent of movement of the object.
