Patent number: 11568636Abstract: A reflective cable system for a geophysical survey system includes a reflective cable that includes a conductive wire surrounded by an electrically insulating sheath and an exterior surface. The reflective cable includes reflective material that is on or visible through the exterior surface and that is configured to reflect a complete spectrum of light provided by a light source back to the light source. The reflective cable system also includes a connector electrically coupled to at least one end of the reflective cable and configured to couple to a geophysical survey system. The reflective cable may be used to locate the reflective cable in a physical environment and used to determine a position of the reflective cable using lidar or photogrammetry for generating geophysical survey models.Type: GrantFiled: April 28, 2020Date of Patent: January 31, 2023Assignee: ADVANCED GEOSCIENCES, INC.Inventor: Markus Lagmanson

Patent number: 11113896Abstract: An augmented reality (AR) object positioning system receives a target coordinate for a location of interest within a physical environment. The AR object positioning system then determines an AR device coordinate of an AR device within the physical environment and orientation information of the AR device at the AR device coordinate. The AR object positioning system calculates a plurality of image frame coordinates of an image frame based on the AR device coordinate and the orientation information when the image frame was captured. The AR object positioning system, in response to an image frame coordinate of the plurality of image frame coordinates corresponding with the target coordinate, renders on a display of the AR device, first annotation content relative to the image frame coordinate according to rendering instructions for the first annotation content.Type: GrantFiled: November 24, 2020Date of Patent: September 7, 2021Assignee: Advanced Geosciences, Inc.Inventor: Markus Lagmanson

Patent number: 10408960Abstract: A high power switching circuit suitable for injection of high currents, typically several tens of Amperes, at high drive voltages of up to 5-10 kV, is provided using a combination of electromechanical and semiconductor switching elements that, while providing switchable polarity, substantially bypasses semiconductor switching element(s) during a substantial portion of current injection duty cycles. In this way, thermal heating of switching elements can be reduced/managed in a way that improves long term reliability of geophysical survey equipment. In addition, circuit protections can be provided to address backflow currents generated upon collapse of electromagnetic fields in inductive loads, such as is typical in geophysical surveys.Type: GrantFiled: March 19, 2018Date of Patent: September 10, 2019Assignee: Advanced Geosciences, Inc.Inventor: Bo Berglund

Patent number: 8965705Abstract: Techniques for surface exploration and monitoring are presented. In representative embodiments, a system is provided that cars perform multiple types of measurements of a surface. For example a single system of survey probes and one or more survey controllers can be used to offer both seismic and electrical measurements. A survey controller can be configured to automatically poll survey probes to obtain identifiers of the probes aid determine a relative order the probes. Survey probes can be configured to: (a) collect signals associated with a surface; (b) digitize the signals to form digital data; and (c) store the digital data for later transmission to the survey controller. Relative positions of survey probes can be automatically determined using a transmitting beacon or other techniques. Survey probes can automatically disconnect from a power conduit while measuring a surface property and operate using an internal source of power when disconnected, to reduce noise.Type: GrantFiled: February 18, 2013Date of Patent: February 24, 2015Assignee: Advanced Geosciences, Inc.Inventors: Mats Lagmanson, Liz Lagmanson, Markus Lagmanson, Bo Berglund

Patent number: 8380439Abstract: Techniques for surface exploration and monitoring are presented. In representative embodiments, a controller can be configured to automatically poll survey probes to obtain identifiers of the probes and determine a relative order the probes. In some embodiments, survey probes can be configured to: (a) collect signals associated with a surface; (b) digitize the signals to form digital data; and (c) store the digital data for later transmission to the survey controller. In some embodiments, survey probes can be configured to: (a) inject current into the surface or (b) provide a return path therefor. Relative positions of survey probes, including those configured to introduce current into a surface as stimulus for geophysical measurements can be automatically determined. Sensor-type survey probes can automatically disconnect from a power conduit while measuring a surface property and operate using an internal source of power when disconnected, to reduce noise.Type: GrantFiled: March 8, 2010Date of Patent: February 19, 2013Assignee: Advanced Geosciences, Inc.Inventors: Mats Lagmanson, Liz Lagmanson, Markus Lagmanson, Bo Berglund

Patent number: 6674286Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for measuring an electrical property of the ground. The apparatus includes a graphite electrode. The graphite electrode includes a graphite body and a first and second opening. The first opening extends longitudinally throughout the graphite body and is configured to receive a multi-wire cable. The second opening is configured to secure one or more wires of the multi-wire cable to the graphite body. Using a graphite electrode, measurements of the ground can be made over a long period of time without having to clean or otherwise maintain the electrodes because the graphite material withstands operating conditions over many years without degradation.Type: GrantFiled: April 18, 2001Date of Patent: January 6, 2004Assignee: Advanced Geosciences, Inc.Inventor: Mats Lagmanson
