  • Patent number: 10231762
Abstract: A bone fixation system including a bone plate, a flexible member, and an actuator. The flexible member connected to both the actuator and the bone plate whereby the actuator operates to move or control the movement of the flexible member. In one example, the actuator applies a force to the flexible member placing the flexible member in tension. Correspondingly, the flexible member transmits the force to the bone plate and operates to draw or pull the bone plate toward or to the actuator.

  • Patent number: 9987062
Abstract: A bone fixation member used to promote healing of a fracture. The fixation member having an upper surface, a lower surface, and an aperture extending between the upper surface and the lower surface. The aperture including a plurality of upper protrusions and a plurality of lower protrusions. The upper protrusions spaced longitudinally from the lower protrusions wherein the lower protrusions are out of phase with the upper protrusions. In a further example, the upper protrusions are spaced circumferentially in a common plane and the lower protrusions are spaced circumferentially in a common plane. The common plane of the upper protrusions spaced from the common plane of the lower protrusions along a longitudinal axis of the aperture with the aperture lacking protrusions between the plane of upper protrusions and plane of lower protrusions.

  • Publication number: 20120059424
Abstract: A bone plate for treating clavicle fractures. The bone plate may include an elongated body having one or more curved portions that roughly conform to the surface and/or anatomical curvature of the clavicle. One or more openings may be provided for receiving an anchoring member, such as a bone screw, for fastening at least a portion of the bone plate onto the clavicle. The bone plate may provide at least one rail member extending along a portion of the body of the bone plate. The bone plate, when affixed to the clavicle, permits the rail member to rest upon the outer surface of the clavicle, thus providing an area defining a cavity formed between an outer surface of the clavicle and a bottom surface of the body of the bone plate, and thus allowing blood to circulate against and around the clavicle.

  • Patent number: 7001386
Abstract: An intramedullary nail for treating long bone fractures. The nail includes a proximal portion that may have a plurality of segments. The segments may be rotatable 360 degrees about a longitudinal axis of the nail such that the position of bone screw openings in the segments can be adjusted to a desired orientation. Locking rings or other locking mechanisms may be provided between the segments to lock the segments in place and allow the segments to be unlocked for readjustment of the position of the segments. The bone screw openings may be configured to allow further angular adjustment of the bone screws with respect to the longitudinal axis of the nail. Inserts may be placed within the bone screw openings to support the bone screws in position.
