Patent number: 8313391Abstract: A golf club or implement comprising a grip region (14), a head (15), and a shaft (12) connecting the grip region (14) to the head (16). A fairing (20) is attachable to a trailing edge of the shaft (12). The fairing can reduce drag associated with the shaft (12) during a swing motion of the club or implement. The fairing can, on attachment, extend along a portion of the shaft (12) from a location proximal the head (16) of the club or implement.Type: GrantFiled: November 20, 2008Date of Patent: November 20, 2012Assignee: Advanced Surgical Design & Manufacture LimitedInventors: Gregory James Roger, David Gordon Hale

Patent number: 8163111Abstract: A process of forming a prosthetic implant component, such as the femoral component of a knee replacement prosthesis. The process comprises the steps of: (i) forming a prosthetic component having a shape at least approximating the desired final shape of the component from a metal alloy; (ii) subjecting the component to a relatively elevated temperature and pressure followed by a cooling regime; (iii) machining the surface of the component; (iv) polishing the surface of the component.Type: GrantFiled: February 6, 2004Date of Patent: April 24, 2012Assignee: Advanced Surgical Design & Manufacture LimitedInventor: Gregory James Roger

Publication number: 20120059485Abstract: A method of performing a knee replacement procedure in an individual in need thereof. The method comprises preparing the distal end of the individual's femur to receive a femoral component of a knee prosthesis. The preparation includes resecting a proximal surface and a distal surface of a medial and/or lateral condyle of the femur, determining the amount of uncut bone left between said resected proximal and distal surfaces after said resection, and then determining, from the amount of uncut bone, a pre-operative, natural profile of a trochlear groove between the medial and lateral condyles of the individual's femur. A selection of femoral components can then be provided with the one selected preferably having medial and lateral condyle components and a trochlear section therebetween that has a profile which substantially matches the natural profile of the trochlear groove of the individual. Knee prostheses components and kits are also provided.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 9, 2011Publication date: March 8, 2012Applicant: Advanced Surgical Design & Manufacture Ltd.Inventor: Gregory ROGER

Publication number: 20100016981Abstract: A reinforcement device (10) suitable for use with a prosthesis, such as a unicompartmental tibial component prosthesis. The reinforcement device is positionable between said component prosthesis and a surgically resected area of bone, for example, the tibia of a patient. The reinforcement device (10) includes a plate-like main body (12) extending from an anterior end (13) to a posterior end (14) and having an upper surface (16) and a lower surface (17). The lower surface (17) is engageable with a fixing means, such as a bone cement (25), to fix the tibial component to a surgically resected area of tibia. The main body (12) also has a plurality of perforations (15) therethrough.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 23, 2007Publication date: January 21, 2010Applicant: Advanced Surgical Design & Manufacture LimitedInventor: Gregory J. Publication number: 20090216116Abstract: A bone marker device for use in surgery. The device has attachment means which is/are attachable to bone that will ultimately be resected during the surgery. A guiding device that is removably securable to the bone of a patient adjacent to the joint and on which the bone marker device may be mounted. A guide member of the guiding device has a slot for receiving a bone resector and enabling accurate resection of bone around the joint.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 8, 2006Publication date: August 27, 2009Applicant: Advanced Surgical Design & ManufactureInventor: Gregory James Roger

Patent number: 7530997Abstract: A valve assembly (10) has a support ring (20) and a valve body (30). The valve body (30) is supported by the ring (20) and comprises an annular body portion (31) that is rotatably engageable with the support ring (20). The annular body portion (30) supports a plurality of leaflets (32) that are moveable relative to each other and the annular body portion (30) between: a closed position and an open position upon changes in pressure differential across the valve assembly (10).Type: GrantFiled: January 21, 2005Date of Patent: May 12, 2009Assignee: Advanced Surgical Design and Manufacture LimitedInventor: Gregory James Roger
