Abstract: A radially expandable stent can comprise a proximal section tapering inward to a proximal end of the stent and a distal section tapering inward to a distal end of the stent. The tapered sections can be adapted to improve the attachment of the stent to the delivery system and to facilitate the delivery of the mounted stent into and through a bodily lumen.
Abstract: An aqueous ink jet ink is made by forming a mixture of a pigment, an optional dispersant if the pigment is not self-dispersing, dispersing, and a urethane polymer or prepolymer dispersion in water. This ink is useful in a variety of ink jet printing applications such as printing on wide format substrates and textiles.

Abstract: This disclosure provides the first description of hESC-derived cells transplanted into human patients. Results are reported for one patient with each of Stargardt's Macular Dystrophy (SMD) and Dry Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD). Controlled hESC differentiation resulted in near-100% pure RPE populations. Immediately after surgery, hyperpigmentation was visible at the transplant site in both patients, with subsequent evidence the cells had attached and integrated into the native RPE layer. No signs of inflammation or hyperproliferation were observed. The hESC-derived RPE cells have shown no signs of rejection or tumorigenicity at the time of this report. Visual measurements suggest improvement in both patients.
Abstract: A mullion connection system for resisting wind load reactions using a connection clip structurally engaged with a mullion without a hole or a fastener penetrating into the mullion surface. The connection clip can undergo stress-free vertical sliding relative to the mullion along the entire length of the mullion without impairing the structural connection strength; therefore, the building construction tolerance in the vertical direction is eliminated as a design consideration of the curtain wall system. The design also eliminates the need for pre-fabricating mullion holes for the connection locations. The design does not require the pre-determination of the elevation of the connecting point and thus is most beneficial for a curtain wall renovation project where the available locations in the building structure for structural connection cannot be determined prior to the demolition of the existing wall.
Abstract: Acid concentrates, and dialysate compositions prepared therefrom, contain citric acid and an effective amount of a buffering agent selected from acetate and/or lactate. The buffering agent allows a physiologically acceptable amount of citrate to maintain the desired pH of the dialysate.
Abstract: A method of operating a mobile device with a camera, a display and a position sensor to provide a display of supplementary information aligned with a view of a scene. One or more image obtained from the camera is uploaded to a remote server together with corresponding data from the position sensor. Image processing is then performed to track image motion between that image and subsequent images obtained from the camera, determining a mapping between the uploaded image and a current image. Data is then received via the network indicative of a pixel location for display of supplementary information within the reference image. The mapping is used to determine a corresponding pixel location for display of the supplementary information within the current image, and the supplementary information is displayed on the display correctly aligned with the view of the scene.

Abstract: A scan head assembled to a scan arm for an ion implanter and a scan arm using the same are provided, wherein the scan head is capable of micro tilting a work piece and comprises a case, a shaft assembly, an electrostatic chuck, a first driving mechanism and a micro-tilt mechanism. The shaft assembly passes through a first side of the case and has a twist axis. The electrostatic chuck is fastened on a first end of the shaft assembly outside the case for holding the work piece. The first driving mechanism is disposed within the case and capable of driving the shaft assembly and the ESC to rotate about the twist axis. The micro-tilt mechanism is disposed within the case and capable of driving the shaft assembly and the ESC to tilt relative to the case.
Abstract: An optical connector cleaner comprising a supply reel, a take-up reel, a case, an operation lever, a take-up mechanism, and a holding member. The supply reel stores a cleaning cloth member having one end side wounded thereon. The take-up reel takes up the other end side of the cleaning cloth member. The case has a connector connection portion on which the cleaning cloth member is exposed. The operation lever that has an operation portion projecting from the case and is swingably supported. The take-up mechanism rotates the take-up reel in a take-up direction by a predetermined angle when the operation lever swings. The holding member holds an optical connector on the connector connection portion in a state in which a coupling face of the optical connector is pressed against the cleaning cloth member exposed to the connector connection portion.

Abstract: A wafer translator and a wafer, removably attached to each other, provides the electrical connection to electrical contacts on integrated circuits on a wafer in such a manner that the electrical contacts are substantially undamaged in the process of making such electrical connections. Various embodiments of the present invention provide a gasketless sealing means for facilitating the formation by vacuum attachment of the wafer/wafer translator pair. In this way, no gasket is required to be disposed between the wafer and the wafer translator. Air, or gas, is evacuated from between the wafer and wafer translator through one or more evacuation pathways in the gasketless sealing means.

Abstract: Disclosed are an HCV gene having higher replication efficiency and higher reinfection efficiency than the known HCV gene of genotype 1b, an RNA replicon having this gene, a cell infected with this RNA replicon, which cell allows replication of HCV, and an HCV particle. The hepatitis C virus gene encodes an amino acid sequence wherein the 979th amino acid is threonine; the 1804th amino acid is leucine; and the 1966th amino acid is lysine. An HCV gene which can propagate in vitro and has higher replication efficiency and higher reinfection efficiency than the known HCV gene of genotype 1b was provided.
Abstract: Disclosed are surfactant compositions containing at least one crosslinked acrylic copolymer. The crosslinked acrylic copolymer is polymerized in the presence of at least two different classes of crosslinking monomers. The crosslinked acrylic copolymers provide desirable rheological, clarity, and aesthetic properties in aqueous surfactant containing compositions.
Abstract: A finFET is formed having a fin with a source region, a drain region, and a channel region between the source and drain regions. The fin is etched on a semiconductor wafer. A gate stack is formed having an insulating layer in direct contact with the channel region and a conductive gate material in direct contact with the insulating layer. The source and drain regions are etched to expose a first region of the fin. A portion of the first region is then doped with a dopant.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an Attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) mouse model and a screening method for a composition for the prevention and treatment of attention deficit disease. The mouse model constructed by inserting cobalt wire in the right side of the frontal lobe is very useful as the ADHD mouse model, and the said ADHD mouse model can be effectively used for the screening of an agent for the treatment of attention deficit disease since the mouse demonstrated brain wave with low frequency, hyperactivity, and cognitive impairment, which are characteristic symptoms of attention deficit disease, when ethosuximide, one of T-type calcium channel blockers, was administered. Therefore, the composition comprising a T-type calcium channel blocker was also confirmed to be effectively used for the prevention and treatment of attention deficit disease.
