Publication number: 20190283283Abstract: A system and method for bonding a protective cover to a mobile device is disclosed. A cold cast protective cover is permanently bonded to the device and provides protection against damage from dropping, impact, exposure to electric or static discharge, and exposure to liquid, gas, and dusts. The cold cast protective cover takes the shape around all or some desired portion of the outer surface of the mobile device while still providing access to the device's user interface, including display, power and volume buttons, power charging port, memory port, speaker port, camera lens, and the like. The cold cast protective cover can, with additives, increase the safety of the device for Intrinsic Safety or Hazardous environments.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 19, 2018Publication date: September 19, 2019Applicant: Aegex Technologies, LLCInventors: Endre Surinya, Helga T. Patent number: 10149389Abstract: An improved intrinsically safe mobile device is designed to reduce sparking risk and surface heating while still maintaining a form factor, processing speed, and functionality comparable to conventional mobile devices. Non-intrinsically safe electronic components are mounted on an unprotected part of a printed circuit board (PCB) contained within the mobile device and are encapsulated to reduce risk of sparking and to minimize surface heating to enable the encapsulated electronic components to be certified as intrinsically safe. The encapsulated electronic components are connected using a trace with intrinsically safe electronic components mounted on a protected part of the PCB and are connected with user interface components using FPC cabling. The trace and FPC cabling are certified as intrinsically safe using one or more protection techniques, such as through use of a resistor, a double MOSFET clamping circuit, a capacitor, a fuse, or maintaining a minimum clearance space.Type: GrantFiled: November 16, 2016Date of Patent: December 4, 2018Assignee: Aegex Technologies, LLCInventor: Endre Surinya

Publication number: 20170118591Abstract: Systems and methods for controlling operation of a mobile device when the mobile device is in a predefined geographic location characterized as being a hazardous, dangerous, or remote working environment. A device management policy or configuration data file is associated with the predefined geographic location and defines predetermined actions that will be performed by the mobile device when the mobile device enters and remains in the predefined geographic location. Once the mobile device enters the predefined geographic location, the device management policy is accessed, normal operation of the mobile device is interrupted, and the predetermined actions required by the policy are performed. The predetermined actions are intended to reduce risks to the user of the mobile device, increase safety, preserve battery life and essential functions of the mobile device, and maintain communication with the user while the user remains in the hazardous or remote environment.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 2, 2016Publication date: April 27, 2017Applicant: Aegex Technologies, LLCInventors: Andre F.A.
