Patent number: 11464162Abstract: A reversible line blade for a rotating trimmer includes a loading section configured to be securable for rotation with a head of the rotating trimmer, a living hinge extending from the loading section, and a transition section extending from the living hinge and having a first cross-sectional shape with matching leading edge and trailing edge geometries. A cutting segment extends from the transition section and has a second cross-sectional shape that is different from the first cross-sectional shape. With matching lead edge and trailing edge geometries, the same line blade is functional for both clockwise trimmers and counter-clockwise trimmers.Type: GrantFiled: March 26, 2020Date of Patent: October 11, 2022Assignee: Aero-Flex Technologies, Inc.Inventor: Vincent D. Patent number: 10874048Abstract: A trimmer can be converted from an existing cutting medium to an alternative tool without requiring removal of the trimmer head. A common upper receiver head, as sold by an original equipment trimmer manufacturer, incorporates design provisions to snugly allow an easy/comfortable fit for a series of uniquely adaptable and convertible cap attachments such as, monofilament systems, unique molded or shaped flexible line blades with optional cutting swath diameters, as well as other helpful devices that perform different functions beyond just cutting grass.Type: GrantFiled: September 12, 2019Date of Patent: December 29, 2020Assignee: AERO-FLEX TECHNOLOGIES, INC.Inventor: Vincent D. Patent number: 10631458Abstract: A line blade for a rotating trimmer includes a loading section securable for rotation on a cutting plane with a head of the rotating trimmer. A living hinge extends from the loading section. A transition section extends from the living hinge and has a first cross-sectional shape. The first cross-sectional shape is configured and oriented to reduce drag. A cutting segment extending from the transition section has a second cross-sectional shape that is different from the first cross-sectional shape of the transition section, where the second cross-sectional shape is configured and oriented for cutting vegetation. The multi-zone line blade improves cutting at lower speeds, thereby requiring less power.Type: GrantFiled: December 29, 2017Date of Patent: April 28, 2020Assignee: AERO-FLEX TECHNOLOGIES, INC.Inventor: Vincent D. Patent number: 10433487Abstract: A walk-behind mower/trimmer includes one or more cutting heads secured to a deck supporting frame and supported on a glider disk. A rear support and handle assembly facilitate operator use and control of the mower/trimmer. The heads may be powered using a gas motor, an electric motor, or a hybrid.Type: GrantFiled: April 21, 2016Date of Patent: October 8, 2019Assignee: AERO-FLEX TECHNOLOGIES, INC.Inventor: Vincent D. Patent number: 9883628Abstract: An anti-winding assembly reduces or prevents debris from winding on a trimmer and/or makes them easier to remove. The trimmer includes a trimmer head mounted to a rotatable arbor and supporting one or more cutting lines. The anti-winding assembly includes a bearing positionable between the trimmer head and an adjacent trimmer component. The bearing includes a freely rotating outer race. A shield positioned radially outward of the bearing adjacent the outer race shields gaps between the bearing and the trimmer head and between the bearing and the adjacent trimmer component. The anti-winding assembly prevents trimmed debris from being wound up near the trimmer head.Type: GrantFiled: December 1, 2015Date of Patent: February 6, 2018Assignee: AERO-FLEX TECHNOLOGIES, INC.Inventor: Vincent D. Patent number: 9872430Abstract: An anti-winding assembly reduces or prevents debris from winding on a trimmer and/or makes them easier to remove. The trimmer includes a trimmer head mounted to a rotatable arbor and supporting one or more cutting lines. The anti-winding assembly includes a collar positionable between the trimmer head and an adjacent trimmer component, and a shield positioned radially outward of the collar. The shield covers gaps between the collar and the trimmer head and between the collar and the adjacent trimmer component. The assembly reduces exposure to pinching gaps and to powered rotating parts that enable tight windings that can accumulate to lock trimmer rotation.Type: GrantFiled: July 27, 2016Date of Patent: January 23, 2018Assignee: AERO-FLEX TECHNOLOGIES, INC.Inventor: Vincent D. Patent number: 9474205Abstract: In a rotating grass trimmer, a top loading line blade and corresponding head securely hold the cutting lines with multiple orientations of the line blade. An alternative embodiment provides a simplified loading scheme where a cutting line is loaded into the trimmer head from its outside, through a line outlet to a fixed receiver without the need for a moving or mechanical line gripping or biting type mechanism. With this construction, a worn line can be replaced by pulling it back out or by reversing it back through the same outlet from which it was initially inserted. The design eliminates practically all of the costs associated with the current state of the art rapid loading mechanisms as there is no physical compression, gripping or biting into the line by any mechanical or moving mechanism. Additionally, the line is insertable in multiple orientations.Type: GrantFiled: October 28, 2009Date of Patent: October 25, 2016Assignee: AERO-FLEX TECHNOLOGIES, INC.Inventor: Vincent D. Morabit

Patent number: 9414540Abstract: A power tool head is including a trimmer head or the like is powered with an AC or DC motor. The head and tool attachment are ergonomically constructed to facilitate use and operation. In the trimmer tool, molded line blades with or without an aerodynamic cross-section provide for effective cutting at low speeds and low power requirements. The line blades may be selectively oriented to improve strength and durability.Type: GrantFiled: March 24, 2011Date of Patent: August 16, 2016Assignee: AERO-FLEX TECHNOLOGIES, INC.Inventor: Vincent D.
