Abstract: A light-emitting apparatus includes at least one light-emitting unit and a lens. The lens includes an accommodating portion, and at least a part of the light-emitting unit is disposed to the accommodating portion. The accommodating portion has a light incident surface, and the ratio of a distance from the light incident surface to the light-emitting unit to a side length of the light-emitting unit is less than 0.5. Thereby, a backlight module using the light-emitting diode (LED) as the light source can emit uniform light, and also the number of the required LED can be decreased.

Abstract: An omnidirectional LED lamp is designed with a complex lens covering a light source. The light source is a light emitted diode chip or a light emitted diode lamp or package. The complex lens is composed of a top center lens, a wing lens, and a tube lens. The top center lens modifies the light beams to shed lights above the lamp, the wing lens surrounds and connects with the top center lens to modify the light beams to shed lights on side bottom of the lamp, and the tube lens is configured under the wind lens and connects to the wing lens to modify the light beams to shed lights on side top of the lamp. The complex lens modifies light beams from a light source to shed light on full directions.

The color temperature is also known as Correlated Color Temperature (CCT).

Abstract: A multi-wavelength beam shaping device is made of a plurality of first micro-steps responsive to light beams of a first specific light wavelength to effect wave diffraction, and a plurality of second micro-steps responsive to light beams of a second light wavelength to effect wave diffraction. Multi-wavelength original light beams can be shaped into a specific lighting pattern to project.

Abstract: A system, method, and computer program product for providing discovery services for servers during a startup sequence can include powering on a server in a domain; creating a listener socket for the server to accept coupling requests from other servers; registering server information for the server with a database; searching the database for other registered servers in the domain; establishing a couple to each of the other registered servers in the domain; and verifying validity of the couple to each of the other registered servers including performing a handshake. The server information registered with the database can include an IP address; a listener port; a domain; a version number; or a server type.

Abstract: According to the invention, a system for providing real-time notification of purchaser requirements in a heterogeneous network environment is provided. The heterogeneous network environment can include a public packet switched network, such as the Internet, and a wireless network, such as a plurality of pagers. Select embodiments include a plurality of wireless terminals in communication with the wireless network to receive real-time notification of a purchaser's requirements. At least one vendor computer is part of the system. The vendor computer has one or more databases for storing information about products and services in a product database, and a customer database, for storing information about customers. A plurality of client computers are part of the system. The client computers enable users to interact with the system to learn about and express interest in products and services.

Abstract: A system, method, and apparatus for automatically and dynamically updating options, features, and/or services available to a client device operating in a client-server environment. The client device includes a client template database for storing templates defining a configuration of the client device. This configuration determines the options, features, and/or services available to a client device and the user of the client device. A server includes a server template database for storing the most current or latest versions of the templates used to configure the client device. When a user enters a user request at the client device, the client device transmits an associated information request to the server. The information request includes a client template identifier associated with the information request and a client template version identifier.

Abstract: A multikeyed table utilizing a number of primary and secondary keys is implementable on a personal digital assistant. The table includes one or more records with each record having a plurality of fields. A number of fields in the records are designated as primary and secondary keys, which in turn are used for sorting and ordering the records. A target position in the multikeyed table may be identified by first receiving target primary and secondary keys from, for example, an application user. Subsequently, an operating system implemented in the personal digital assistant is prompted to select and return one record stored in the table. In response, the record selected by the operating system is received. The record received from the operating system is then compared with the target's primary and secondary keys, after which the target is indicated as having keys greater than, less than, or equal to the keys of the received record.

Abstract: A system, method and apparatus for utilizing transaction databases in a client-server environment. The transaction databases can be used to receive and retain multiple server responses to consecutive client requests regardless of the temporal relationship between the multiple responses and consecutive requests. One method of the invention relates to how a client device displays information. This method is for use in a client-server system including one or more servers and a client device having a client transaction database, a client template database, and a user interface adapted to enable a user to enter requests. The method includes the steps of receiving a user request from the user via the user interface and retrieving a template from the client template database based on the user request. The template includes one or more data fields.

Abstract: According to the invention, a method for providing real-time pricing of notifications of purchaser requirements to vendors in a heterogeneous network environment. The heterogeneous network environment can include a public packet switched network, such as the Internet, and a wireless network, such as a plurality of pagers. The purchaser requirements are embodied in a vendor notification. The method is operable in environments having a plurality of wireless terminals in communication with a vendor computer using a wireless network to receive real-time notification of a purchaser's requirements. At successive intervals, a timer can be utilized to change the price that a vendor pays for a vendor notification.

Abstract: A method and system for providing formatted information via a wireless communications system that includes a plurality of cell sites. The method includes the steps of storing a plurality of page templates each having a page identifier and at least one information field. The method also includes the step of receiving a request from a first two-way wireless communications device, wherein the request specifies the first device and a first page identifier selected by a user of the first device. In response to receiving the request a first page template, of the plurality of page templates, is determined. The first page template corresponds to the first page identifier. The method also includes determining information relating to an information field of the first page template and sending a response message to the first device, wherein the response message includes the determined information. The method can includes the step of displaying the information on a display of the first paging device.
