Patent number: 11930734Abstract: An agricultural implement for applying fertilizer beneath the surface of the soil. The implement has a main frame for connecting the agricultural implement to agricultural equipment. A swing arm is pivotally connected to the main frame. An adjustable actuator interconnects the swing arm to the main frame to control the movement of the swing arm with respect to the main frame. A pair of discs are mounted to the free end of the swing arm for rotation with respect to the swing arm. The discs are offset mounted with respect to one another and are angled outwardly with respect to the direction of travel of the implement. The discs form grooves for receipt of fertilizer. Fertilizer tubes are mounted adjacent the discs and terminate behind the discs with respect to the direction of travel. The fertilizer tubes deposit fertilizer in the grooves formed by the discs. A furrow closer is attached to the main frame to close the groove opened by the discs.Type: GrantFiled: April 23, 2021Date of Patent: March 19, 2024Assignee: AG FOCUS LLCInventors: Bruce W. Patent number: 11686068Abstract: A retrofit assembly used to substitute a remotely controlled cylinder for a furrow closing standard spring on agricultural equipment. The retrofit assembly includes a cylinder mount including a cylinder mount tab and a cylinder mount fixture. The cylinder mount is connected to the furrow mount. The cylinder bracket 30 is mounted to the agricultural equipment. A remotely controlled fluid cylinder is mounted between the cylinder mounting assembly and the cylinder mounting bracket. A standard spring for a furrow closing assembly on agricultural equipment can be replaced with a remotely control fluid cylinder allowing the furrow closing assembly to be controlled remotely by the user.Type: GrantFiled: September 21, 2020Date of Patent: June 27, 2023Assignee: AG FOCUS LLCInventors: Bruce W. Patent number: 10834865Abstract: A furrow closing wheel for closing an open furrow. The furrow closing wheel has a pair of rims mounted for rotation about a generally horizontal axis of rotation. The pair of rims are mounted at an angle with respect to one another with the rims being spaced apart. The distance between the rims decreases as the rims rotate from the top of the direction of rotation to the bottom of the direction of rotation and increases as the rims rotate from the bottom of the direction of rotation to the top of the direction of rotation. Spikes protrudes radially outwardly from the rims. Teeth extend inwardly and laterally from rims. The spikes are adapted to penetrate the sides of a furrow to crumble the furrow walls and push soil in the direction of the furrow opening and the teeth mesh to press down on the furrow to properly close the furrow.Type: GrantFiled: May 1, 2018Date of Patent: November 17, 2020Assignee: AG FOCUS LLCInventor: Brian E.
