Abstract: There is provided an efficient method of storing hydrogen in materials of small mass and small volume. The products of the present invention comprise intimate mixtures (as opposed to alloys) of magnesium and other metals or alloys capable of forming hydrides. The hydrides are selected so that the hydrides have a substantially lower thermal stability than that of magnesium hydride.

Abstract: A high speed detection system for operation with submillimeter wave radiation comprises a plurality of non-linear elements and an antenna structure for coupling said elements and the radiation. The elements are typically Schottky diodes and are distributed in a one dimension or two dimension planar arrangement. The antenna structure includes a curtain of antennae several wavelengths long, in parallel relation and having point like contact with the non-linear elements.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for positioning an object in space in such a manner as to permit duplication of the positioning in a precise position wherein three characteristic points on the object wherein the coordinates of the points are determined and are electrically synthesized for generation of a signal for reproducing the points on the coordinates, and utilizing a television camera and monitor forming an image of the object on the screen and causing the points of the object to coincide with the reference points by means of a photosensitive sensor in such a manner that the characteristic points on the body are displaced so as to coincide with the synthesized points on the television screen.

Abstract: Quaternary ammonium salts of malic acid having the formula: ##EQU1## where: R is a monovalent aliphatic hydrocarbon radical, saturated or unsaturated, of from 8 to 20 carbon atoms but preferably of 12 to 18 carbon atoms; R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 may be identical or different and each represents a lower alkyl radical or an aryl radical. The salts find use in cosmetics as a source of the malic ions necessary to the energy process in cellular metabolism. These salts insure a better intracellular penetration of malic ion and improve the stability of creams and other cosmetic emulsions.
