Abstract: A reusable compact disc package with a narrow three-sided spine compartment for holding a spine card identifying the compact disc title and a second compartment, essentially square, for firmly storing a sleeve containing a compact disc. The essentially square shape of the second compartment allows for the compact disc sleeve to be square and thereby contain a scaled down exact reproduction of the original album graphics of a previously released recording. The package contains a vertical opening opposite the spine such that the sleeve may be easily inserted into and removed from the package. The package also includes a retaining clip for firmly holding the sleeve in place inside the package. The package is comprised of two components with correlated lock tabs and receptacles such that the components may be cinched securely together to form a stable compact disc package which can be easily disassembled with the use of a two-pronged key.
Abstract: The present invention comprises a process for manufacturing a single piece multi-purpose box from a board blank and a wrap. The process includes a method and machine for score setting the spine of said single-piece box so that the wrap does not separate from the board blank after continued opening and closings of the box. Moreover, the present invention teaches a method of closing said boxes in-line in an upright position which results in ready counting and packing of said boxes.
Abstract: A package for a compact disk formed from a prescored, preprinted unitary blank or sheet and at least one injection molded plastic compact disc holder in which the front panel, for retail display purposes, is not folded over the panel containing the CD but is instead left in an unfolded orientation, as an extension of the CD-containing panel, and is held in that unfolded or open orientation by at least one and preferably two J-shaped members or clips made of a resilient material such as plastic. Also, a method for making same.

Abstract: The invention comprises a package for a compact disc formed from a prescored, preprinted unitary blank or sheet and at least one injection molded plastic compact disc holder. The invention also includes a method of making the package comprising the steps of securing at least one compact disc holder to a sheet or unitary blank, placing and securing a compact disc into each compact disc holder, folding the resultant assembly along fold lines, erecting a carton for the folded assembly, inserting the assembly into the erected carton and shrink-wrapping the resultant carton assembly.
